Beyond Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka City; Representative Director: Masahiro Haraoka), which provides managed cloud server services and system development, has collaborated with Kansai IT companies Act-B Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka City; President & CEO: Ryosuke Fujiwara) and Scene Live Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka City; President & CEO: Ryosuke Isomura) to launch "KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP," a new initiative focused on training AI talent in Kansai with the theme "Liberal Arts Students × AI."
KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP
■ Why is this initiative being implemented now?
In recent years, the utilization of AI has been rapidly progressing in Japan. Corporate adoption of AI has been expanding year by year, with applications extending across various domains such as business efficiency improvement and decision-making support. Amidst this situation, the importance of human resources who can "master" AI, not just "implement" it, is increasing.
To effectively utilize AI, it is indispensable to have the ability to "appropriately set challenges" and "accurately verbalize intentions," going beyond mere tool understanding. Since AI generates output based on the information input by humans, its quality heavily depends on the input content. In the AI era, critical thinking, verbalization skills, and structured thinking—often cultivated in liberal arts fields—are becoming more important skills than ever before.
On the other hand, the reality is that there are not many places in Kansai where one can practically learn AI. In particular, there are almost no programs directly linked to practical work targeting liberal arts students.
Against this backdrop, KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP was launched.
■ What is KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP?
KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP is an organization launched through the collaboration of Beyond Co., Ltd., Act-B Co., Ltd., and Scene Live Co., Ltd., focusing on "Liberal Arts Students × AI" to train AI talent in Kansai.
It aims to provide liberal arts students with opportunities to learn engineering skills and AI utilization, expand their career possibilities, and contribute to the development of "communication-savvy" AI talent and the IT industry in Kansai.
In the future, we also envision expanding the number of participating companies, with the goal of providing opportunities to highly motivated students and ensuring that their learning leads to new businesses and encounters. KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP is the first step towards this.
■ Our Philosophy
"Liberal arts students, precisely because they are liberal arts students, can master AI."
This organization was born from regional revitalization efforts by Kansai IT companies. A strong aspiration to "energize the entire Kansai IT industry beyond individual recruitment activities by multiple companies joining forces" was the starting point.
Common to the three companies is the idea that human-to-human communication is indispensable for creating value in business in the AI era. The ability to correctly understand the other party's intentions and accurately convey one's own thoughts is the foundation of all business, and its importance remains unchanged even as times evolve.
KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP will expand career possibilities by enhancing and further developing the strengths of liberal arts students—such as their critical thinking, creative ideas, and verbalization skills—through interaction with AI. Through this initiative, we aim to foster talent who can not only "use" AI but also actively "create value" with it.
■ Significance of Beyond's Participation in this Initiative
Our company has operated at the forefront of IT infrastructure, centered on cloud server business. What we have keenly felt on site is the fact that AI is significantly changing the role of engineers. What is gaining importance more than technical skill is communication ability. This is precisely the axis that our company has traditionally emphasized in recruitment.
Our company is also one that has been experiencing the changes of the AI era from within our business, as we handle services utilizing generative AI in-house. That is precisely why we feel great potential in this initiative.
For our company, which has challenged diverse recruitment activities, this initiative is a new challenge in that extension. Companies and students learn together, grow together, and create value together. We are participating in this initiative to deliver a starting point for such a relationship from Kansai.
■ Future Developments
KANSAI AI BOOTCAMP aims to expand participating and sponsoring companies, form an alumni community, and develop initiatives involving universities and businesses in Kansai, starting with a career event in June 2026.
First Phase
Offline event "Liberal Arts AI Night - AI Career Strategy for Liberal Arts Students" to be held.
An offline career event for liberal arts university students. A demonstration will be given on developing a WEB application in 30 minutes using AI.
