Lawyers are expanding their roles beyond mere dispute resolution and contract work, becoming deeply involved in corporate and social transformation. The 'BUSINESS LAWYERS AWARD' aims to pay tribute to the efforts of these individual lawyers and their contributions to corporate and social change, while widely promoting the new image of corporate legal lawyers who are paving the way for the future. In its second year, 'BUSINESS LAWYERS AWARD 2026' will inherit the main concept of 'Shining a light on lawyers who drive corporate and social transformation' while further evolving its department structure and judging process. This year, the judging theme is 'Lawyers who have paved the way for the future of the business sector.' We will spotlight lawyers who have utilized their legal expertise to clear paths for business in unprecedented, cutting-edge fields such as AI, space, climate change countermeasures, and public policy. Under this policy, the department structure has been reorganized into a two-tier structure: 'Core Departments' and 'Theme Departments.' Core Departments will be awarded annually as themes that form the foundation of corporate legal affairs, while Theme Departments will be set each year according to the trends of the times. An Excellence Award and a Grand Prize will be selected from each department, and one lawyer who has performed particularly outstanding activities among the Grand Prize winners of each department will be awarded the Grand Prix.
