Benesse Corporation, headquartered in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture and led by President and Representative Director Daisuke Iwase, publishes the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting magazines Tamago Club and Hiyoko Club. First launched in 1993, the magazines will celebrate their 33rd anniversary in October 2026. In the Summer 2026 issue of Hiyoko Club, released on May 15, 2026, entertainer Nozomi Tsuji appears with her fifth child, Yumea, who was born last August, in a parent-child feature that includes a rare interview. This issue marks Yumea’s first appearance on a magazine cover. The Summer 2026 issue of Hiyoko Club is positioned as a guidebook that directly solves common parenting concerns, covering babies from around four months old until just before age two. It goes on sale on May 15, 2026, priced at 1,650 yen including tax. The issue includes several weaning food guides for first-time mothers and fathers, including a basic cooking and recipe book for early and middle-stage weaning, a guide and recipe book for late and final-stage weaning from nine months onward, a food ingredient guide explaining what is OK and what is not yet suitable, and a guide to solving concerns about babies’ crying and sleep. A special supplement from Kodomo Beams, a crinkly and squeaky cloth activity book, is also included. Tsuji said this was her first photo shoot with her child, so she had been looking forward to it, and she felt that Yumea enjoyed it as well. She described the cover as beautiful and said the issue became a memorable keepsake for the family. Speaking about raising her fifth child, she said even nighttime crying feels adorable, almost like caring for a grandchild. Although people tend to see her as a veteran parent because she has five children, she noted that seven years have passed since her previous child, so it feels no different from parenting for the first time. She said she has returned to the basics and is raising her child from zero again. Tsuji also shared a message for parents currently raising children. She said that even after finally starting weaning food, daily life remains hectic, including moments when the family had to pause because everyone caught an infectious illness, a situation common in large families. She encouraged parents, saying they likely experience both difficult and joyful moments, and hoped everyone could stay healthy and keep going together. Nozomi Tsuji was born on June 17, 1987, and is from Tokyo. She debuted in 2000 as a fourth-generation member of Morning Musume, graduated from the group in 2004, and began solo activities. In 2007, she married actor Taiyo Sugiura and gave birth. Her fifth child, Yumea, was born in August 2025. Her YouTube channel, Tsuji Channel, where she shares her real everyday life, is supported by many mothers. Hiyoko Club editor-in-chief Chie Itami said it was an honor to have Nozomi Tsuji and Yumea appear together on the cover. During the shoot, Yumea was smiling and cheerful throughout, giving the impression that she is deeply loved by Tsuji and her family. The staff found her smile soothing, making it a joyful photo session. The Summer 2026 issue of Hiyoko Club measures 280 x 210 mm, has 192 pages, and is priced at 1,650 yen including tax. The Tamahiyo magazine lineup has been renewed into four titles: Hajimete no Tamago Club, Tamago Club, Hajimete no Hiyoko Club, and Hiyoko Club. With more supplementary booklets and pages than before, Hiyoko Club covers topics such as how to start and proceed with weaning food, solutions for breast milk and formula concerns, and how to dress babies in early summer through summer.
