BELTA Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Katsumi Takekawa, hereinafter referred to as BELTA), whose mission is to "solve the challenges of women's life stages," signed a "Partnership Agreement on the Promotion of Women's Well-being" with Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, on July 1, 2026 (Wed).

This agreement aims to deliver health awareness tailored to life stages to the working generation, in collaboration with Kuwana City's "Women's Well-being Promotion Project" and its unique "Women's Well-being Support Company" framework.

Moving forward, BELTA will provide folic acid supplements and folic acid awareness leaflets to employees of "Women's Well-being Support Companies" in Kuwana City who wish to receive them. Additionally, a dedicated page for Kuwana City will be established within the welfare service "TUMUGU," delivering information on life stages and well-being through video content.

Through this initiative, in collaboration with Kuwana City's women's well-being policies, information on folic acid awareness and life stages will be delivered to employees of companies within the city that support women's well-being.

BELTA, through this agreement, aims to create opportunities for the working generation to think about their own health and future, and to support the creation of an environment where each individual can make choices that are true to themselves.

Growing Interest in "Well-being Management" and Kuwana City's Unique Initiatives

In recent years, there has been growing interest in "health management," which views employee health from a business perspective. In the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization recognition system promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and others, 26,850 organizations were certified in 2026 across both large corporation and small and medium-sized enterprise categories, an increase of approximately 15.8% from the previous year, indicating the expansion of health investment initiatives by companies. *1

Furthermore, women's health issues are gaining attention not only as individual health management but also as a social theme related to work styles, career development, and ease of living in the community. In particular, for the physical and mental changes that occur at each life stage, such as menstruation, pregnancy/childbirth, and menopause, there is often insufficient understanding from those around them and support in the workplace, necessitating the creation of an environment where women can continue to work and live as they wish.

In response to this social background, Kuwana City is promoting the "Women's Well-being Promotion Project" to address the overlooked physical and mental discomforts of women, aiming to create a vibrant city where all residents of Kuwana can shine, with citizens, companies, experts, and students engaging from various perspectives.

In addition, as part of this project, Kuwana City is advancing workplace initiatives, such as certifying "Kuwana City Women's Well-being Support Companies" to promote well-being within companies.

What is Well-being

Refers to a state of being able to live a fulfilling life true to oneself, while maintaining physical, mental, and social well-being.

Background of the Partnership Agreement Signing for "Promotion of Women's Well-being" between Kuwana City and BELTA

BELTA has been collaborating with municipalities, educational institutions, and medical institutions nationwide to promote preconception care and provide health support tailored to life stages.

While women's health issues change with each life stage, opportunities to access accurate knowledge about their health and future are insufficient for those in their childbearing years and the working generation. Folic acid, in particular, is known as a necessary nutrient for women who wish to become pregnant, but there are disparities in the opportunities to learn its importance at an early stage.

Kuwana City and BELTA have now signed this agreement to share their recognition of challenges and directions for promoting women's well-being and to deliver health awareness to the working generation through companies.

This agreement will utilize Kuwana City's corporate collaboration framework to disseminate health information and raise awareness about folic acid among employees of well-being support companies. The aim is to create opportunities within daily life and the workplace for individuals to consider their own health and future.

Sharing the Significance of Delivering Health Awareness to the Working Generation

At the partnership agreement ceremony held at Kuwana City Hall on July 1, 2026, representatives from Kuwana City and BELTA were in attendance. At the ceremony, initiatives for promoting women's well-being by Kuwana City, and BELTA's past efforts in preconception care awareness and life-stage-based health support were introduced.

Furthermore, the importance and significance of delivering health awareness through the familiar setting of the workplace were reconfirmed. Moving forward, in collaboration with Kuwana City's "Women's Well-being Support Companies," we will create opportunities for the working generation to think about their health and life stages, and promote initiatives that support women's well-being throughout the region.

Comment from Kuwana Mayor Tokuhiro Ito

Kuwana City has been promoting "creating a city where women's well-being is improved" since Reiwa 6 (2024). While women's active participation has been a social issue with various initiatives promoted by the national government and others, the health of mind and body, which forms the foundation for women to thrive, is paramount. Therefore, our city positions "improving women's well-being" as a crucial theme for city development. Currently, we are collaborating with companies in Kuwana City to create an environment where working women can live in a more well-being state, with 66 companies participating as "Women's Well-being Support Companies" and implementing various initiatives. We are very pleased to be able to provide folic acid supplements and awareness booklets, as well as video content utilizing "TUMUGU," through our connection with BELTA. While we are still on a journey to become a city where women can live with well-being, we will continue to move forward with our initiatives, fully embracing BELTA's vision, to create a city where women living and working in Kuwana can continue to live healthy and true to themselves, both mentally and physically.

Comment from Yuhei Moriya, Director, BELTA Inc.

Under the mission of "solving the challenges of women's life stages," BELTA develops products and services that support women through life stage changes such as marriage, fertility planning, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and menopause, addressing their anxieties and concerns. In our interactions with over 1.5 million customers, we have frequently heard the sentiment, "I wish I had known sooner." We believe it is important not to learn about health and life plans only when they become necessary, but to have an environment where one can naturally encounter such information in daily life. We are delighted to collaborate with Kuwana City's "Women's Well-being Support Company" initiative and to disseminate information about folic acid and well-being through the familiar setting of the workplace. By creating opportunities for the working generation to consider their future health and life stages, we believe it will lead to a society where each individual can proactively choose their own life. Through this partnership agreement, we will build a new model for promoting well-being through collaboration between corporations and government, contributing to the improvement of citizens' health awareness and the creation of a region where everyone can live vibrantly.
