Belta Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Katsumi Takekawa, hereinafter referred to as Belta) will co-host the luncheon seminar "Preconception Care as the Starting Point for Family Building ~Current Status and Implementation from the Perspective of Behavioral Economics~" at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine, to be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

In conjunction with co-hosting this seminar, Belta, in collaboration with Dr. Kiyotaka Kawai, Chairman of Kameda Medical Group, who will be a speaker at the seminar, conducted a survey on awareness and behavior regarding nutritional intake from before pregnancy to during pregnancy, targeting 414 individuals who are planning pregnancy, are pregnant, or have experienced childbirth.

Some of the survey results are scheduled to be presented during the seminar. Through this initiative, Belta aims to connect the knowledge of medical professionals with the voices of individuals, and to promote health creation from before pregnancy and the dissemination of preconception care.

Background of Co-hosting the Luncheon Seminar

With the mission of "Solving the challenges of women's life stages," Belta has been involved in promoting health creation from before pregnancy and the dissemination of preconception care by providing products and services that support women through their life stages, including fertility planning, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as through collaborations with local governments, medical institutions, and educational institutions.

Preconception care is an important concept not only for future pregnancy and childbirth but also for young generations to consider their own health and life plans. On the other hand, there are individual differences in the timing of accessing necessary information and the triggers for actual behavior, and initiatives that connect the knowledge of medical professionals with the awareness and behavioral realities of individuals are needed.

This luncheon seminar will view preconception care as the "starting point for family building" and is expected to discuss the significance of support from before pregnancy for perinatal medicine, and the support that medical professionals, companies, and society can provide in collaboration. Through co-hosting this seminar, Belta hopes to connect the voices of individuals with discussions in the medical field and contribute to the dissemination of preconception care.

Survey on Awareness and Behavior Regarding Nutritional Intake from Before Pregnancy to During Pregnancy

In conjunction with co-hosting this seminar, Belta, in collaboration with Dr. Kawai, conducted a survey on awareness and behavior regarding nutritional intake from before pregnancy to during pregnancy, targeting 414 individuals who are planning pregnancy, are pregnant, or have experienced childbirth.

Nutritional intake from before pregnancy to during pregnancy is one of the important themes when considering preconception care. On the other hand, there are differences among individuals regarding when they learn about necessary nutritional information, what information they consider when deciding on intake, and how they think about nutritional intake during fertility planning and pregnancy. This survey aims to grasp the awareness and behavioral realities of individuals regarding nutritional intake from before pregnancy to during pregnancy, through their awareness of nutrients such as folic acid, their thinking when choosing supplements, and their behavior regarding nutritional intake during fertility planning and pregnancy. Some of the survey results are scheduled to be presented during this luncheon seminar. By connecting the knowledge from the medical field with the voices of individuals, we aim to contribute to providing necessary information and considering support for health creation from before pregnancy.
