BEENOS Inc. (Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO: Shota Naoi) conducted a survey on anime consumption habits among 554 international customers using the cross-border e-commerce service 'Buyee'.

Over Half Prefer 'Japanese Anime', Strong Support in Asia 98.0% responded they like anime. Among them, 50.4% specifically prefer 'Japanese Anime'. This preference was highest among Traditional Chinese users (65.7%) and Korean users (58.1%), showing stronger affinity in Asia than in English-speaking regions. Top reasons include 'Interesting storylines' (83.3%) and 'Attractive characters' (79.3%).
TV Remains the Dominant Entry Point The most common reason for getting into anime was 'Watching on TV' at 51.3%. While younger generations show a higher preference for video streaming sites, TV broadcasting remains the strongest initial contact point overall.
30% Watch Daily; High Interest in Related Consumption 32.6% watch anime almost every day (20.0% daily, 12.6% 5-6 days a week). Furthermore, nearly 80% enjoy peripheral activities like collecting merchandise and listening to theme songs, highlighting strong purchase-driven engagement.
