Event Report
Opening remarks by Tsuyoshi Sakamoto, Director and Head of BIZTEL Business Division
First, Director and Head of BIZTEL Business Division, Sakamoto, took the stage and explained the business of the cloud-based CTI/call center system 'BIZTEL,' which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. 'Since 2006, a time when the word 'cloud' was not yet common, we have continued the challenge of moving phone systems to the cloud. Leveraging the know-how and experience cultivated over these 20 years, we will continue to evolve as a service that supports corporate activities, such as promoting location-independent work styles and improving business efficiency using generative AI,' he said.
Regarding the new commercial, 'Let's Dig Deep into BIZTEL!,' he commented, 'In this commercial, Wakana Matsumoto interviews staff from various teams to delve into why BIZTEL continues to be chosen by so many customers and the behind-the-scenes efforts we make to ensure companies can use our service with peace of mind. In particular, BIZTEL's characteristic 'high voice quality' is a very important element in a cloud-based phone system, and I would like viewers to pay attention to the secret of how we maintain that quality.'
Wakana Matsumoto on her impressions of the new CM and special feelings for BIZTEL
After the new commercial was unveiled at the venue, Matsumoto appeared, wearing the same outfit as in the CM. When asked about the completed commercial, she said, 'This time, I interviewed the employees and got to see them at work. I thought I knew about BIZTEL through the previous commercial shoots, but by hearing their 'live voices,' I was able to understand BIZTEL on a deeper level. What was particularly impressive was the strength of their teamwork. They are always thinking about how to pass tasks to the next person to ensure smooth operations, and I felt the strong bond and warm corporate culture.'
Regarding her third appearance in a BIZTEL commercial, Matsumoto commented, 'I have been appearing in BIZTEL commercials since 2022. In this shoot, I was able to learn more deeply about BIZTEL's initiatives and the thoughts of the employees that I didn't know before, so I hope everyone can enjoy those points through this new commercial.'
Revealing an episode from the CM shoot: 'A set where I felt the employees' passion'
When asked about an episode from the time of the CM shoot, she said, 'The employees were very nervous before the shoot, but once the cameras started rolling, they spoke so fluently that I remember thinking they were better at it than me.' As for her favorite scene, she mentioned, 'The scene where I make a surprise visit to the employees while they are working. I was able to see their real, natural smiles. I was nervous myself, but I was so happy that they were pleased,' she said, introducing the highlights of the commercial while looking back on the shoot.
'Looking Back on BIZTEL's 20 Years with Wakana Matsumoto'
Turning point as an actor was 'winning the Best Supporting Actress award after a period of struggle'
In a segment looking back at BIZTEL's 20th anniversary with a timeline panel, when asked about a turning point in her acting career, Matsumoto said, 'It was when I received the Best Supporting Actress award at the 39th Yokohama Film Festival (2017). Before that, I had days of self-doubt, wondering if I would end my career in this world without ever getting a break, and what my own style of expression was. But receiving the award made me feel my own significance, that it was okay for me to be here. Although results come later, I felt that 'someone was watching me.'
