Osaka, April 15, 2026 — Bayer Yakuhin Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Representative Director and President: Ashraf Al-Ouf, hereinafter "Bayer Yakuhin") announced today the launch of its awareness campaign, "Let's Convey: Prostate Cancer Treatment Starting with Words," with the aim of supporting communication between prostate cancer patients and their families, driven by the desire for them to continue living their precious lives authentically.

Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that develops in the prostate, an organ unique to men, and is one of the most common cancers among Japanese men¹⁾. More than 100,000 cases are reported annually, with incidence rates increasing with age, particularly sharply after age 55¹⁾.

While prostate cancer often has few noticeable symptoms in its early stages, early detection and appropriate treatment are known to result in a very high 5-year survival rate of nearly 100%²⁾. Even after diagnosis, maintaining a balance between treatment and daily life, and spending ordinary days authentically, leads to the precious "continuation" for patients. To achieve this, we believe the first step is for patients to confront their disease, communicate their treatment goals and thoughts to their primary physician, and discuss and decide on suitable treatment options with their doctor.

Bayer supports the "continuation" of patients not only through the provision of medicines but also from other aspects. Through this campaign, we will sequentially roll out initiatives such as providing tools to support communication between patients and doctors, sharing the voices of patients facing prostate cancer, and organizing awareness events for the general public, including patients and their families.

Manas Choudhari, Head of Oncology Urology at Bayer Yakuhin, stated: "Under Bayer's mission of 'Health for all, Hunger for none,' we have contributed to improving treatment outcomes for prostate cancer patients. The first step in confronting prostate cancer is to 'exchange words.' By communicating and discussing their values, lifestyle, and how they wish to envision their 'continuation' with healthcare professionals, patients can achieve more satisfactory treatment choices and live their lives authentically. Through this campaign, we will provide tools and platforms to support dialogue and encourage communication between patients and doctors."
