Photographer. He travels the world taking pictures, with his main theme being 'the earth.' This also includes 'humans' who exist as part of the earth. From 2010 to 2012, he embarked on a 1021-day journey across 103 countries, publishing the photo book 'Walkabout' (Shogakukan) and the travelogue 'The Songlines' (Shogakukan). His 2015 photo exhibition 'Land' in Manhattan was widely covered by local media and received high praise. His latest series, 'Boundary | Center,' which follows 'Boundary | Border' capturing the landscapes of Iceland, was released in December 2025. He is the grand prize winner of the 3rd National Geographic Photo Award and a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts.
