BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. is pleased to announce the official tournament "Taiko no Tatsujin Donkatsu Cup 2026/2027" for the popular home video game "Taiko no Tatsujin Dondful Festival".

To commemorate the event, a special tournament website has been launched, and we are now accepting entries for participants in the area qualifiers. We are pleased to announce that entries are now open.

What is "Taiko no Tatsujin Donkatsu Cup 2026/2027"?

We will be holding the official tournament "Taiko no Tatsujin Donkatsu Cup 2026/2027" for "Taiko no Tatsujin Dondful Festival".

As before, the tournament will be held in two divisions: "General Division" and "Elementary School Division". Seven players from each division who win their respective area qualifiers held in seven locations nationwide, along with the top player from each division in the Last Chance Qualifier held during the finals, will advance to the finals. A final tournament will be held with 8 players from each division who have advanced from the qualifiers.

In conjunction with the event, we have begun accepting entries for participants in some areas on each area qualifier website starting today. We encourage everyone to participate.

●Overview:

【Qualifiers】Area qualifiers and Last Chance qualifiers will be held. Participants for the finals will be decided at each qualifier.

(1) Area Qualifiers: Offline tournaments held in 7 locations nationwide. The winner of each tournament will advance to the finals.

・Hyogo Qualifier: August 1 (Sat) / Venue: Arima Toy Museum 1F BAR DE GOZAR

・Hiroshima Qualifier: September 23 (Wed/Holiday) / Venue: Shareo Underground Shopping Mall Kamiya-cho Swing, West Plaza

・Gunma Qualifier: October 4 (Sun) / Venue: JOMO SQUARE 1F "Place for Learning and Exchange"

・Fukui Qualifier: November 7 (Sat) / Venue: Mihama Town Lifelong Learning Center Navias

・Yamagata Qualifier: To be announced later

・Aichi Qualifier: To be announced later

・Fukuoka Qualifier: To be announced later

(2) Last Chance Qualifier: Offline tournament held at the finals venue. The top player from each division will advance to the finals.

・Scheduled to be held in Tokyo in January 2027

【Finals】A final tournament will be held (scheduled to be held in a certain location in Tokyo in January 2027) with 8 players from each division who have advanced from the qualifiers.

●Eligibility: 【General Division】Individuals aged 6 years or older as of April 2, 2026.

【Elementary School Division】Individuals aged 6 to 11 years old as of April 2, 2026.

※Individuals aged 6 to 11 years old are eligible to participate in both divisions, but can only participate in one.

<Qualifier Details/Required Songs> In the area qualifiers, participants will play 2 required songs for each division twice each, for a total of 4 plays. Only the best score for each song will be tallied, and the top player (top 2 players for the pre-finals qualifier) will earn the right to participate in the finals tournament as the winner of each qualifier.

※The selection method for advancing to the finals may differ depending on the venue of the area qualifier. Please check the details when entering the area qualifier.
