Balnibarbi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Osaka; Representative Director and Chairman: Hirohisa Sato) operates "RIDE," an all-day dining restaurant located along the canal in Tennozu, Tokyo. From May 2026, RIDE will be offering a limited-time "Garden of Green" Matcha and Melon Fresh Green Afternoon Tea, timed with the arrival of the refreshing season.

This plan, designed for guests to enjoy the changing seasons with all five senses, proposes a colorful afternoon tea with the theme of "tea time enjoyed as if gazing at a garden." It features a harmonious blend of the deep umami of matcha and the fresh juiciness of early-season melon.

■ A Fresh Green Gradient Woven by Japanese and Western Styles

It's a beautiful season when leaves shimmer in the sunlight. In addition to sweets that bring out the depth of matcha using Western techniques, such as rich matcha terrine chocolate and mousse cake layered with pistachio, we have prepared a delicate lineup incorporating Japanese essence, such as mini dorayaki and sesame sable sandwiches with genmaicha cream.
Furthermore, items offering a refreshing aftertaste suitable for the coming season include verrines made with the fresh sweetness of fragrant melon, and smooth mizumanju (water mochi). You can spend a relaxing time on the open terrace seats along the canal.

The symbol of this afternoon tea is the "Matcha and Melon Moss Terrarium Parfait," which expresses a small garden-like landscape within a glass. Matcha crumble is used to resemble moss, and by layering the fruity sensation of melon with the bitter notes of matcha, it creates a healing moment where you can feel the breath of nature, both visually and in taste. The pastry chef commented, "I expressed the depth of matcha and the lightness of melon as 'time spent gazing at a garden.'"
