Our company endorses April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is about the dream of "Mermo Ballet."
Mermo LLC (Location: Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City, Representative: Natsu Takita) operates "metamorphose Ballet" (hereinafter "Mermo Ballet"), a detached house studio located a 5-minute walk from Green Line Takata Station, and is engaged in community-based ballet activities. Since its opening in 2024, Mermo Ballet has been providing a place for health promotion and self-expression through ballet.
The Dream of 'Mermo Ballet'──"You can shine at any age!" A ballet studio in Kohoku Ward where you can enjoy 'lifelong ballet'.
As we enter a long-lived society, the importance of leading a healthy and high-quality life is increasing. Mermo LLC is focusing on promoting ballet as a new exercise option for middle-aged and elderly people.
Ballet is an elegant yet powerful dance that uses the whole body. Its movements are known to build muscle strength, balance, and flexibility, which are essential elements for seniors to live independent lives.
Locomotive syndrome (motor organ syndrome) is caused by a decrease in muscle strength and a decline in motor function, but regular exercise through ballet can be an effective countermeasure against these problems.
Furthermore, dancing ballet has a positive effect on the brain. The process of learning and executing complex movements to music is said to activate the brain and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of cognitive function.
Ballet lessons also provide opportunities for social interaction, which can help alleviate feelings of isolation among seniors.
To spread these wonderful benefits of ballet, "Mermo Ballet" has begun its journey.
Although we have only taken a small first step, our dream is big.
The dream of "Mermo Ballet" is to help middle-aged and elderly people maintain an active lifestyle both physically and mentally through ballet, thereby contributing to the overall health and happiness of society.
