BAIOX Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representatives: Keita Masui, Tetsuya Kurihara), a medical AI startup, will exhibit at the "International Modern Hospital Show 2026" held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 8 (Wed) to 10 (Fri), 2026, where they will demonstrate their AI agent for medical institutions, "MedPlato," for cyber incident response training and as a medical CISO agent. Amidst a surge in ransomware attacks causing disruptions to medical care and evolving national policies, BAIOX proposes the utilization of AI to support the creation of "response-capable organizations" within hospitals, going beyond mere "documentation of countermeasures."

Background: Medical Cybersecurity Shifts from "Preparing" to "Acting"

Cyberattacks targeting medical institutions continue to occur, directly impacting regional healthcare through disruptions to electronic health records and limitations on medical services. Amendments to the Medical Care Act Enforcement Regulations mandate medical institutions to implement measures for cybersecurity, and the "Guidelines for Security Management of Medical Information Systems" (Version 6.0) emphasize the importance of staff education and training for emergency situations. Furthermore, there is a growing trend to make cybersecurity measures and BCP (Business Continuity Plan) development requirements for medical fee reimbursement.

In June 2026, a parliamentary research group was established to promote policies in the medical information field, and 1.5 billion yen has been allocated in the FY2025 supplementary budget of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for strengthening medical institution cybersecurity, indicating that national support systems are beginning to mobilize.

However, many in the medical field express concerns such as, "We have established regulations and manuals, but we are not confident in our ability to act," and "We lack personnel capable of planning and managing training or serving as a Medical CISO." Training provided by external vendors also presents significant burdens in terms of cost and scheduling. BAIOX will address the challenge of "in-house training" by demonstrating MedPlato's incident response training capabilities at this exhibition.

Demonstration Content: AI that Generates Training Scenarios within the Hospital's Context

MedPlato's incident response function supports in-house training for initial response, reporting, and recovery processes, based on attack scenarios such as ransomware infections and unauthorized access.

By learning the hospital's internal system configuration, asset information, and operational structure, MedPlato can create training scenarios tailored to "situations that could realistically occur at that specific hospital," rather than generic templates. This allows internal staff to prepare training plans and scenarios in a short period, a process that previously required several weeks to months when outsourced to external consultants.

At the booth, visitors can experience a demonstration of training scenario generation tailored to their own hospital.

About MedPlato

"MedPlato" is an AI agent developed jointly by BAIOX Co., Ltd. and Associate Professor Kota Torikai of the University Hospital, Gunma University, who has extensive experience in medical DX activities. It comprehensively supports the roles of CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) and CIO (Chief Information Officer) in medical institutions. It was launched in April 2026.

Primarily offered as an on-premise solution (installed within the hospital), it allows for the use of advanced AI functions without transmitting patient data outside the hospital. In addition to incident response, it includes 13 functions such as DX strategy planning, asset management, audit support, and disaster preparedness, and complies with the regulations of three ministries and two guidelines.

At the 30th Spring Academic Conference of the Japan Association for Medical Informatics held in Utsunomiya in June 2026, many medical information researchers and representatives experienced the demo.

Representative's Comment

Tetsuya Kurihara, Representative Director and Co-CEO, BAIOX Co., Ltd.

"With the advancement of AI, the threat of cyberattacks is rapidly increasing, and the question is no longer 'if' an attack will occur, but 'can we act when it does.' In an era where organizations must foster their own capabilities to respond to cyberattacks, MedPlato delivers expert knowledge to all hospitals as a reliable in-house cyber training and medical CISO agent."

Exhibitor Seminar Announcement

BAIOX will also be presenting at an exhibitor seminar during the show. Associate Professor Kota Torikai of the University Hospital, Gunma University, co-developer of MedPlato, will discuss real-world challenges in medical DX and medical cybersecurity, and how MedPlato can be utilized to address them.

Date and Time: July 8 (Wed), 2026, 15:00 - 15:30

Venue: International Modern Hospital Show 2026 Exhibitor Seminar Venue [West Hall 4 Special Seminar Stage] Capacity: 150 people Title: "DXing the Medical DX and Medical Cyber Processes Themselves" - MedPlato

Speaker: Kota Torikai, Associate Professor, University Hospital, Gunma University

(Seminar Overview) The fundamental reason why DX/cybersecurity measures often fail to progress even when individuals are appointed in hospital organizations is that "multiple specialized knowledge areas are simultaneously required" to advance DX/cybersecurity. The AI agent "MedPlato," developed under the supervision of medical DX/cyber experts, acts as a "navigator for DX/cyber personnel," providing strong support from addressing medical professionals' concerns to concept creation, product selection, subsidy searches, profitability checks, and developing proposals for management.
