Back Market Japan Co., Ltd. has released its refurbished smartphone sales ranking based on data from Japan, the US, and Europe between May 1 and May 31, 2026. Refurbished devices are used electronics that have been professionally inspected, cleaned, and repaired to ensure full functionality. In this ranking, relatively new models like the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 remained popular across all regions. In Japan, the iPhone SE (2022) 64GB maintained its top position, priced from 20,579 yen, followed by the iPhone 14 128GB. The US ranking was led by the iPhone 14 128GB, while the European market saw the iPhone 15 128GB take first place. Back Market representatives noted that Japanese consumers value the balance of price and performance, whereas the US and Europe show strong demand for newer devices. The company continues to promote refurbished products to reduce environmental impact to about one-tenth compared to new devices.
