Back Market Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as Back Market), one of the world's largest marketplaces specializing in refurbished electronic devices, announced the successful conclusion of its first domestic pop-up event held at the 2nd floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado" from March 24 (Tuesday) to April 5 (Sunday), 2026. During the 13-day event, a total of 5,000 people visited. Refurbished products are pre-owned electronic devices collected, inspected, cleaned, and repaired by experts, and are confirmed to operate normally in all functions.

This pop-up welcomed customers with a space design themed around a "laundry," starting from "cleaning," which is one of the easiest refurbishing processes to experience. In the "Laundry Gacha," which anyone could participate in for free, one lucky winner per day received a luxurious prize such as a refurbished iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Mini, or Apple Watch. Other prizes included terminal cleaning kits and special stickers. A smartphone cleaning service was set up at the venue, and the content was well-received by customers as a way to feel the value of refurbishing through the experience of "washing" their devices.

On weekends (March 28-29 and April 4-5), mini-workshops were held where participants could experience making keychains and accessories by reusing e-waste. Reflecting Back Market's mission of environmental protection, this workshop prompted comments from participating customers stating that it sparked their interest in e-waste issues and raised their awareness of using items for a longer time.

During the event, face-to-face surveys were conducted with 314 visiting customers. In response to the question, "After today's experience, would you like to try buying refurbished products in the future?", 40.2% answered "I want to buy," and 47.1% answered "I want to consider it (including price differences, etc.)."
