B&Plus Co., Ltd. (Location: Ogawa-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama Prefecture) announced today the start of sales for its charging expansion unit for AGVs and AMRs, "RCS-BTC-7A-LI24" (hereinafter, "this product").

This product is a charging expansion unit that supplies power from an additional battery to an existing battery. By combining it with rapid charging compatible batteries, it achieves both an effective expansion of battery capacity and efficient power supply, simultaneously extending operating time and shortening charging time.

■ Development Background

Our company has been developing and providing wireless power supply systems, which have been adopted by various material handling robots such as AGVs, AMRs, and UGVs.

Among these, we have received many requests to "extend operating time." Generally, this is addressed by increasing battery capacity, but a challenge arises where increasing capacity also lengthens charging time. Furthermore, many genuine batteries do not support rapid charging, leading to a decrease in operational efficiency.

Therefore, our company focused on a configuration that separates "rapid charging compatible batteries" and "existing batteries" to efficiently supply power by leveraging their respective characteristics. This product solves these challenges through a new power supply method that combines batteries with different characteristics.

■ System Proposal

This product, when combined with a wireless power supply system and rapid charging compatible batteries, can easily construct a non-contact rapid charging system. It simultaneously achieves automatic charging and highly efficient operation of material handling robots.
