Broadminded Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Kiyoshi Ito; Securities Code: 7343; hereinafter: "the Company"), which develops and provides financial services to support the realization of life plans with the purpose of "Unleashing the Power of Finance," will launch a new service, "Money EAP," on March 31st, as a new measure to support employees' financial stress, enabling them to autonomously solve their money-related problems.

■What is Money EAP?

First, "EAP" is an abbreviation for "Employee Assistance Program," which refers to a program that provides care for mental and physical discomfort as a measure for employee mental health, and it is a keyword that has been attracting attention among business owners and HR managers in recent years.

"Money EAP" is positioned as a mechanism that supports financial health, following the principles of traditional EAP.

For money issues, just like health, "early detection" and "appropriate professional support" are important.
Money EAP comprehensively provides support from visualizing employees' financial status to improvement assistance and professional consultation, thereby helping to reduce financial stress.

■Development Background

In recent years, the environment surrounding household finances has changed significantly due to the impact of rising prices and interest rates. According to a survey by the Financial Services Agency*¹, half of those who have borrowed within the past three years are regular employees, indicating that borrowing occurs even among people with stable jobs.

On the other hand, money issues are extremely private matters deeply related to an individual's life. Companies tend to feel "interested but hesitant to get involved," and employees also have a psychological tendency to "not want company intervention even if they have concerns." Therefore, "non-intervention" has been the most realistic approach for both companies and employees.

However, in recent years, employees' financial problems have become risks that companies can no longer overlook. Financial distress can be a motive for various fraudulent activities such as hidden side jobs, working overtime to make ends meet, fraudulent expense claims, embezzlement, and fraud against customers. Furthermore, strong financial anxiety can affect performance and organizational stability, such as decreased concentration and increased intention to leave.

Based on these challenges, the Company has developed "Money EAP" as a system that provides an environment where employees can autonomously solve their money-related problems, under the premise that "companies do not intervene."

This service provides a framework where companies offer a consultation environment, and employees can receive support from experts of their own volition. Companies can address organizational issues such as reduced performance due to financial stress and reduced risk of fraud, while respecting employee privacy.

FAQ

What kind of service is "Money EAP"?

It is a program where companies indirectly support employees with their money-related issues (debt, financial planning, future anxieties, etc.). Employees can autonomously access support through an online platform or professional advisors (FPs), aiming to reduce financial stress.

Why do companies need to be involved in employees' "money issues"?

Employee financial stress can lead to decreased productivity, increased risk of fraudulent activities, and higher intentions to leave, posing risks that companies cannot ignore. However, due to the private nature of these issues, direct company intervention is difficult. "Money EAP" offers a new option to bridge this gap.

How can employees use the service?

First, employees can visualize their financial situation and work on self-improvement through the online platform "AND CALMO." If further professional support is needed, they can consult with an FP (Financial Planner) free of charge at their own discretion. Consultation details are not shared with the company.

What are the benefits for companies?

By reducing employees' financial stress, companies can expect improvements in productivity, reduction of fraud risks, and lower turnover rates. Furthermore, it offers benefits to both the company and employees as support is provided while respecting employee privacy.

Please tell me about the pricing plans.

The "EAP Free Plan" can be introduced at no cost. Other paid plans tailored to corporate needs are also available. For details, please inquire through the material request form.
