Axelspace Corporation, a microsatellite developer and operator aiming to realize a society where everyone can utilize space, announced that it has signed a partnership agreement to provide satellite imagery to 'NSG UP42,' the first national earth observation data platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Through this partnership, Axelspace will provide optical satellite imagery captured by its GRUS-1 satellite to NSG UP42. This will enable users within Saudi Arabia to utilize wide-area, continuous earth observation data to conduct advanced analysis and make data-driven decisions in the following areas: - Agriculture monitoring: supporting crop observation, seasonal variation analysis, and agricultural planning. - Environmental monitoring: supporting environmental change tracking and sustainability initiatives. - Urban development monitoring: continuously observing urban expansion and infrastructure development progress. - Land use monitoring: enabling ongoing observation and analysis of land use status. - Disaster monitoring: assisting in rapid situational awareness and continuous monitoring of disaster-affected areas.

Commenting on the partnership, Turki Alsubaie, Senior Vice President of the Saudi Marketplace at NSG UP42, stated: 'This partnership further expands the choices of Earth observation data available through the NSG UP42 platform. By providing access to frequently updated optical satellite imagery, NSG UP42 will be able to deliver reliable geospatial information to various organizations in Saudi Arabia. We expect this will support more sophisticated decision-making and contribute to the realization of the Kingdom\'s long-term development goals.'

Daigo Orihara, Director of Axelspace Corporation, added: 'We are very pleased to contribute to improving access to diverse observation data by integrating our optical satellite imagery into NSG UP42's earth observation platform. Through our partnership with NSG UP42, we will support the expanded use of geospatial data in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and contribute to promoting data utilization across a broader range of sectors.'

The release notes that an image of Jeddah, a major city in Saudi Arabia captured by GRUS-1, is available, in which the UNESCO World Heritage site 'Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad)' can be identified.

About NSG UP42: NSG UP42 is Saudi Arabia's first sovereign earth observation platform, established by Neo Space Group (NSG) through the acquisition and localization of the global earth observation platform 'UP42.' The platform contributes to strengthening the nation's geospatial capabilities by supporting the modernization of government agencies, corporate digital transformation, and the development of the earth observation ecosystem within the Kingdom. As part of NSG's comprehensive portfolio including satellite communications, geospatial intelligence, and PNT (positioning, navigation, and timing) services, NSG UP42 contributes to the development of Saudi Arabia's space industry and the realization of 'Vision 2030.'
