Autoliv, Inc. has developed its first complete wearable protection solution for motorcyclists. This product is a vest with a built-in airbag system aimed at reducing the risk of serious injury in a crash. It will now be launched on the market through a collaboration with RS Taichi Co., Ltd., a Japan-based manufacturer of motorcycle riding gear. This initiative strengthens Autoliv's portfolio of safety solutions for motorcycles and bicycles and supports the company's strategy to explore further growth opportunities beyond its core business of airbags, seatbelts, and steering wheels for passenger cars.

By expanding its business into new areas like motorcycle rider protection, Autoliv demonstrates a firm commitment to driving innovation and market diversification. This collaboration with RS Taichi is a significant milestone in bringing advanced rider protection solutions to the market. Along with the recently announced airbag solution for Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.'s 'Tricity 300', these efforts further advance Autoliv's strategic agenda.
While Autoliv has previously supplied individual components for airbag vests, the new airbag system adopted for RS Taichi's "T-SABE (Motorcycle Riding Airbag Vest)" was developed entirely by Autoliv, from concept design to system validation. RS Taichi enhanced its performance, including maneuverability in actual riding situations and fit tailored to the needs of Japanese riders, to commercialize it as a full-fledged wearable protection system.
