Autodesk K.K. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tomoyuki Nakanishi; hereinafter "Autodesk") announces its participation in the Partners Community of the Hiroshima AI Process (Hiroshima AI Process, hereinafter "HAIP"), an international initiative launched following the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
The Partners Community is a voluntary framework in which private companies and international organizations that support the spirit of HAIP participate and collaborate with governments of participating countries to implement HAIP. As a member of this Partners Community, Autodesk will contribute to advancing HAIP by collaborating with governments, industries, and international organizations and sharing practical insights.
HAIP is an initiative aimed at realizing safe, secure, and trustworthy AI, driven by the rapid advancement of AI technologies such as generative AI. Governments, international organizations, industries, academia, and civil society collaborate to advance international discussions and implementation on AI governance. As part of this effort, the "Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group Action Plan 2026" was published in March 2026, outlining concrete actions to promote AI governance and the societal implementation of AI.
This Action Plan highlights key initiatives such as enhancing transparency in AI governance, sharing best practices, promoting interoperability among governance frameworks, and advancing the societal implementation of AI through sharing use cases and talent development.
Autodesk will contribute to these efforts by sharing its global expertise on responsible AI development and deployment in the design and make industries. As an example of these initiatives, Autodesk’s efforts in AI governance and implementation are highlighted, including the establishment of its "Trusted AI Principles," the publication of over 40 "AI Transparency Cards" detailing AI features in its products, advancing AI research in the field of CAD geometry, and providing AI-enabled professional tools to over 150 million students and educators worldwide.
Autodesk’s "Trusted AI" is a foundational approach to achieving responsible AI governance throughout the entire lifecycle of AI systems—from design and development to deployment and operation. At the core of this approach are the "Trusted AI Principles," which commit to five pillars: Responsible (Responsible AI), Transparent (Transparency), Accountable (Accountability), Reliable (Reliability), and Safe & Secure (Safety and Security).
Furthermore, Autodesk publishes an "AI Transparency Card" for each AI feature, disclosing information such as design methodology, data used, and safety measures applied. Additionally, the AI management system supporting the development of customer-facing AI products and features has obtained certification under the international standard ISO/IEC 42001, advancing initiatives aligned with global AI governance standards.
Tomoyuki Nakanishi, President and Representative Director of Autodesk K.K., commented on Autodesk’s AI initiatives:
"AI is being rapidly adopted in industries such as architecture, civil engineering, and manufacturing—sectors where we operate—and its societal impact is growing ever larger. Therefore, to fully harness the potential of AI, responsible development and use with reliability and transparency are essential.
Through our globally cultivated Trusted AI initiatives, Autodesk is advancing the realization of safe, secure, and trustworthy AI. We are deeply honored to join the HAIP Partners Community and will contribute from Japan to the international discourse and societal implementation of AI governance."
Sebastian Goodwin, Senior Vice President and Chief Trust Officer at Autodesk, Inc., added:
"As AI adoption accelerates worldwide, international collaboration is more important than ever. To realize trustworthy AI, clear governance, sufficient transparency, and the sharing of practical best practices are indispensable. At Autodesk, we reflect these principles in the AI features our customers use daily, such as Autodesk Assistant. Trust is the foundation of AI innovation, and international initiatives like HAIP play a crucial role in enabling its realization."
Autodesk’s AI technologies are utilized across the entire "Design, Make, and Operate" lifecycle in industries such as architecture and civil engineering, manufacturing, and media & entertainment. Autodesk positions AI as a technology that extends human creativity and enhances productivity, and is committed to its responsible development and use.
