Salone del Mobile 2026
Audo Copenhagen “The Grand Café”
The Danish interior brand Audo Copenhagen will make its first appearance at the Milan Salone in April 2026.
The theme for the 460㎡ exhibition space is “The Grand Café.” It is an immersive architectural space that reinterprets the spirit of Italian social salons, conceived as a place for people to gather.
Designed by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, co-founder of the renowned Copenhagen design collective Norm Architects, in collaboration with Art Director Christian Møller Andersen, this 460㎡ space draws inspiration from Italian historicist architecture and the geometric order of 1930s modernism. Soaring colonnades guide guests through various spaces, creating a warm atmosphere of tranquility through a harmony of rhythm, proportion, and materials.
At “The Grand Café,” visitors are first welcomed into a lounge area, then proceed through a café to a dining hall. Each space is composed as part of an architectural narrative, unified by a tone of “soft minimalism.” Here, furniture and lighting can be experienced not merely as exhibits, but within actual spaces. This installation will also showcase future products, including new releases scheduled for June 2026.
Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, co-founder of Norm Architects, states:
“With ‘The Grand Café,’ we aimed to create a space that combines grandeur with intimacy, not just an exhibition booth. A place where people naturally gather and connect. By incorporating the language and scale of Italian historicist architecture and early modernism, we position Audo’s collection within an architectural experience.”
Joachim Kornbæk Engel-Hansen, Design & Brand Director of Audo Copenhagen, says:
“At Audo, we believe design is best understood within its context. In ‘The Grand Café,’ we present products not as solitary objects, but as part of a space where people actually live. It embodies hospitality, materials, and human connection, which we continue to explore.”
With roots in Copenhagen and a global perspective, Audo creates new environments through dialogue between tradition and contemporary design. The Milan Salone “The Grand Café” expresses that Audo is a brand that designs not just products, but spaces themselves.

Audo Copenhagen Product Examples
The Tired Man
The Tired Man, first presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition in 1935, has since been cherished as an icon of Danish design. This armchair, embodying exceptional craftsmanship and supreme comfort, was designed by Flemming Lassen with the aim of providing a feeling “as warm and enveloping as a polar bear cub held in its mother’s arms.” Its characteristic curved form gently embraces the body, bringing deep relaxation.

Eave Modular Sofa
The Eave Sofa draws its name and design inspiration from the 'eave,' the lower edge of a roof where it meets or overhangs the wall. Its smoothly curved silhouette achieves refined beauty and comfort, creating a sense of spaciousness and cozy relaxation. This sofa offers a variety of combinations, from single modules to two-seater, three-seater, and corner sofas, allowing you to choose your preferred plan. A wide range of textiles is available for upholstery, including Audo's signature bouclé fabric.

Hashira Collection
Inspired by traditional Japanese washi paper artisans, Norm Architects created the Hashira Collection. Embodied fusion of the East and West, tradition and modernity, this collection is available in a diverse lineup including floor, table, wall, pendant, ceiling, and portable lamps. Its cylindrical form reflects a delicate balance of tranquility and proportion, simplicity and individuality. Utilizing wood and linen as materials, the calculated combination of different materials brings soft light and subtle texture to the space.
