AtWorking Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce information regarding the intraocular contact lens "IPCL®" (hereinafter, IPCL), which received regulatory approval in Japan in April 2025. The results of the safety and efficacy verification from domestic multi-center clinical trials for IPCL have now been published in the March 2026 issue of "Atarashii Ganka" (New Ophthalmology), an ophthalmology specialty journal with over 40 years of history.

### Summary of Trial Results

This trial was conducted as an open-label, non-comparative, multi-center clinical study.

The subjects were 109 patients aged 18 to 45 years diagnosed with moderate to severe myopia or myopic astigmatism, who underwent implantation surgery of IPCL® V2.0 in both eyes and were followed up for 12 months post-surgery.

After inserting IPCL® V2.0 into both eyes of patients with moderate to severe myopia, no significant fluctuations were observed from day 1 post-surgery up to 12 months. The results of the investigation into efficacy and safety confirmed its clinical utility.

Upon this publication, Professor Shigeru Kinoshita of Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, the lead author of the paper, stated the following:

"The intraocular contact lens 'IPCL', which has been widely familiar since 2013, adopting the long-trusted HEMA material (acrylic polymer) and accumulating global achievements, finally received its long-awaited regulatory approval as 'IPCL®' in April 2025 after domestic multi-center clinical trials. In this trial, we observed patients with moderate to severe myopia and myopic astigmatism for 12 months, and exceptionally stable visual function was obtained from early post-operative stages, with long-term safety and precise effectiveness of refractive correction objectively proven. The domestic introduction of IPCL, based on this highly trusted material also used in cataract surgery, not only expands the options for refractive surgery but also brings a high level of reassurance to both surgeons and patients. I am convinced that the evidence published in this journal will serve as a new guideline for improving QOL in future clinical practice."

### What is IPCL® (Intraocular Contact Lens)?

IPCL is an intraocular contact lens primarily composed of HEMA, an acrylic polymer material widely used in intraocular lenses for cataracts and general contact lenses.

While IPCL has been sold and used overseas since 2017, domestic multi-center clinical trials were conducted in Japan from December 2021 to September 2023, with the cooperation of Emeritus Professor Kanjiro Masuda (University of Tokyo) and Professor Shigeru Kinoshita (Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine).

These trials, targeting 109 patients diagnosed with moderate to severe myopia or myopic astigmatism, verified its efficacy and safety.

Based on these results, IPCL obtained regulatory approval from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in April 2025 and was launched in Japan in September of the same year as a new intraocular contact lens.
