Athome Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasushi Tsurumori; hereinafter referred to as Athome), a real estate information service provider, has been selected as an implementer for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Survey and Research Project for the Utilization of Digital Technologies such as GIS in Property Surveys," and has commenced verification of practical application. This project aims to organize, verify, and analyze the practical applicability and challenges of urban planning decision GIS (Geographic Information System) data, targeting property surveys and important matters explanation services in real estate transactions.
[Overview and Background]
This project involves comparing and verifying information recorded by real estate companies during the creation of property survey reports and important matters explanations with information obtained using urban planning decision GIS data, targeting multiple municipalities nationwide. It will confirm the presence or absence of discrepancies between the two and organize and analyze the factors when discrepancies are identified.
In recent years, as digital technologies are increasingly utilized by both government and private sectors, GIS and other digital technologies are also being employed in the real estate field.
However, due to the high accuracy and accountability required in important matters explanations under the Building Lots and Buildings Transaction Business Act, GIS and other digital technologies have not yet been fully adopted, and urban planning decision GIS data is currently limited to reference information.
Against this backdrop, the project aims to clarify the issues and specific directions for streamlining property surveys and important matters explanation services that are compatible with GIS and other digital technologies.
