Special Exhibition "Atelier Shimura Kimono - Scent of Wind" to be Held in Setagaya, Tokyo

The season when trees sprout lush green and the wind carries a fresh scent. We will be holding a special exhibition, 'Atelier Shimura Kimono - Scent of Wind,' where you can experience kimonos created by harnessing the blessings of nature. Atelier Shimura kimonos, which inherit the artistic spirit of Living National Treasure dyer and weaver Fukumi Shimura, are rich 'gifts from nature.' We take lustrous silk threads from silkworms, dye them with plants, envision natural landscapes and stories, and hand-weave them as if watering a single flower. To wear a plant-dyed kimono is to be enveloped in the beautiful colors of nature and gently protected by the vitality of plants. The infinite colors of plants will warmly embrace your heart and beautifully color your days to come. We hope you will encounter a special piece that will stay with you throughout your life.
