Born in 1964 (Showa 39), a broadcast writer. At age 20, he aspired to be a rakugo performer and apprenticed under Katsura Bekako (now the third-generation Katsura Nanko). He performed under the name 'Katsura Mashumaro', but soon after, his master encouraged him to pursue a career as a writer, and he became an apprentice to broadcast writer Tetsuo Hikida. Since then, he has worked on numerous hit programs in the Kansai region. Currently, as a freelance broadcast writer, he is active in various fields, mainly composing variety shows in Kansai such as 'Sokomade Itte Iinkai NP' and 'Uenuma Takada no Kugizuke!' (both on Yomiuri TV), and also writing scripts for dramas, stage plays, and films. His works include 'Murder in a Box', included in 'Alice Arisugawa's Railway Mystery Library' (Kadokawa Bunko).
