Executive Chief Scientist, Technology Intelligence Division Nobuaki Kawaguchi Born in Osaka in 1959. Graduated from Tennoji High School, Osaka Prefecture. In 1989, completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Molecular Biology and Developmental Biology) at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Immediately after obtaining his doctorate, he founded a company, served as an international conference producer on global environment and the future of civilization, and since 2001, has been involved in multivariate analysis of intellectual property, seed venture investment, and business production. Joined Astamuse at the end of 2011. Involved in strategic consulting for R&D and commercialization for companies, universities, and government agencies, formulation of 176 promising growth areas and 105 social issues, quantitative evaluation of global research, technology, and markets, future estimation and nascent exploration, and logic development for quantitative assessment of social issue materiality. Since 2022, participated in the JST "Construction of Spacetime Information Infrastructure using Cloud Optical Lattice Clocks" (University of Tokyo, RIKEN) project's Social Implementation (SI) group, working on exploring potential applications and formulating intellectual property strategies. In October 2020, participated in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "Structural Reform of Tokyo in the Post-Corona Era ~Driving DX~" expert panel proposal. In May 2021, provided proposals during hearings for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Expo Promotion Office "Osaka/Kansai Expo Japan Government Pavilion Concept."
