ASICS Launches GEL-KAYANO 33 Running Shoes, Pursuing Greater Stability and Comfort

ASICS Japan will launch four models of the GEL-KAYANO 33, a model from its flagship high-performance running shoe series that pursues stability and comfort, with an early release on the ASICS online store from June 11, and a sequential release at ASICS directly managed stores (excluding factory outlets) and sporting goods stores nationwide from June 18.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 22,000 yen (tax included) for all models.

The GEL-KAYANO series has been a flagship high-performance model for long-distance running since 1993. It has guided many runners to complete full marathons by enhancing support for smooth foot movement even during long runs and improving stability to reduce wobbling. This new model adopts 'FLUIDSUPPORT', which follows the concept of the '4D GUIDANCE SYSTEM' that adapts to changes in running form over long distances.

FLUIDSUPPORT is a new stability function developed through research and testing to harmonize with the body's natural movements. As the name 'FLUID' suggests, it features a structure that provides smooth, continuous support throughout the entire foot movement, achieving stable footwork from heel strike to toe-off. Additionally, by using a softer material on the inner midfoot of the midsole, it supports a light running feel even when fatigued and form tends to break down.

The midsole uses 'FF BLAST MAX', a soft and highly resilient cushioning foam material, in the upper layer, and 'FF BLAST PLUS', a cushioning foam material that is firmer than the upper layer, in the lower layer. It also incorporates 'PureGEL', a shock-absorbing function in the heel to reduce the burden on the foot.

The upper uses an 'Engineered Mesh' that varies the knitting pattern and hole size depending on the area to enhance breathability and fit. Furthermore, by connecting the inner side of the upper with the tongue, the sense of unity and fit between the foot and shoe is improved.

The outsole adopts 'HYBRID ASICSGRIP', which combines two types of originally developed rubber materials, achieving both grip and durability. The central part uses 'ASICSGRIP', which provides excellent grip on various road surface conditions, and the heel, which is prone to high impact during landing, uses 'AHARPLUS', which has approximately three times the abrasion resistance of the company's conventional rubber.

A line structure with rubber arranged in a curved shape on the inner side of the outsole controls the flexible bending of the sole, supporting a smooth run. Additionally, an oval design on the front part of the outsole flexibly adapts to foot movement, providing softer cushioning.

This model is recommended for those who are starting running or aiming to complete a full marathon.
