Asia Educational Institution (Address: Musashino, Tokyo; President: Kengo Nagatsuna) has completed a full renovation of the 2nd to 4th floors of the Ota Kozo Memorial Hall (Asia University Library), built in 1994, and reopened on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Along with the 1st floor, which was renovated in April 2025, and other existing floors, the entire building has been zoned to allow for flexible use of floors according to purpose. With a collection of approximately 670,000 books and online resources, it supports the learning and research of students and faculty.
In this renewal, Okamura Corporation (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa; President and CEO: Masayuki Nakamura) was in charge of the spatial design, creating features that align with the concept of each floor and devising ways to make the library an inviting place to use.

【Key Points of This Project】
■ Symbolic Spatial Design for Each Floor
Each floor is configured with layouts and furniture matching its concept. The multi-story structure allows for a change in atmosphere from floor to floor, creating a design where users can comfortably choose a space that suits their mood.
■ Zoning for Conversation and Quiet Concentration Areas
The 2nd and 3rd floors are designed as active learning spaces to encourage lively communication. The upper floors have been zoned more strictly as areas for quiet concentration.
■ Effective Use of Repurposed Furniture
Fixtures such as desks and chairs previously used on the 2nd floor have been repurposed on floors where their design and functionality can be best utilized. Reused furniture has also been incorporated, emphasizing economic rationality.
■ Initiatives to Encourage Reading
Bookshelves and chairs are organically combined to create a space where users can relax and casually engage with library materials. The "Ajidai Label" student collection, new paperbacks, and other books are placed on the renewed floors to help establish reading habits.
Introduction to the Renewed Floors
■1F Entrance
A Clear, Open Library Entrance

This floor was renovated in April 2025. It features individual desks that can be used without worrying about sightlines, creating a comfortable space.
It also focuses on "attractive" displays, such as a book selection corner by students and special exhibitions.
■2F Learning Commons — BOTANICAFE —

A Cafe Commons Where You Can Relax with a Coffee
Furnished with greenery and warm, wood-grain furniture. The interior design is comfortable and encourages users to gather.
A new vending machine for cup drinks has been installed, and beverages can be consumed on the same floor.
■3F Knowledge Square — MIRAI Labo —

Creation of a New Learning Space
A symbolic tree is placed in the center to create a new library image. The space is gently divided by thread curtains, allowing for active use such as seminars and presentations.
A futuristic feel is created with vivid colors based on blue.
Two "TELECUBE by OKAMURA" (soundproof individual booths) have been installed to support student activities such as job hunting.
■4F Book Lounge

A Relaxing and Concentrated Space Surrounded by Books
Based on calm, dark brown furniture, this space is designed for concentration on reading and learning.
It primarily houses the "Ajidai Label" student collection, popular for its lineup of light introductory books and novels, as well as new paperbacks, audiovisual materials like Asian films, and more, guiding users towards the upper floors (5-7F) where more specialized materials are collected.
