This event leverages 'TikTok Shop,' an e-commerce feature enabling users to discover and purchase products directly within the TikTok app, to promote goods and charms from businesses in Okinawa Prefecture to users nationwide.

Drawing on its expertise in entertainment content creation and regional promotion, the company will collaborate with local businesses and creators to plan and execute live streaming initiatives. By delivering in real time the unique appeal of Okinawan products, culture, and people, the company aims to expand sales channels for regional businesses and increase awareness of Okinawan-made products.

Background

Okinawa is home to numerous attractive local specialties, including island-grown ingredients nurtured by rich natural environments and traditional crafts.

However, due to its geographical status as an island prefecture, many local businesses continue to face challenges in consistently promoting their products outside the prefecture and establishing new sales channels.

To date, the company has worked on regional revitalization initiatives that utilize digital technology and entertainment to share Okinawa's charms both within and beyond the prefecture.

Additionally, in April 2022, the company partnered with Okinawa Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. to launch an official online store within the 'Virtual Kokusai Street' area of the metaverse space 'Virtual Okinawa,' working on solutions for online sales and logistics challenges for local products.

By participating in 'TikTok Shop Local in Okinawa,' hosted by TikTok Shop Japan, the company aims to combine the discovery-based e-commerce features of TikTok Shop with its own entertainment planning capabilities to create new touchpoints between Okinawan-made products and users nationwide.
