Support for this project has included everything from refining regional resources to pre-project research, data analysis, product design, demonstration, wide-area collaboration, and web/SNS promotion.

This initiative was undertaken as a model case aiming to transition from transit tourism to stay-based tourism.

Transition to 'Wide-Area Touring' Tourism

This project utilizes E-bikes (electric-assist bicycles) to design wide-area touring routes that connect previously difficult-to-access rural areas, forest roads, and villages.

To encourage visits to previously inaccessible hidden gems and local shops, we promoted exposure through map creation and SNS promotion.

Additionally, we planned a woodworking experience called 'Dōso-jin Carving' for visitors to enjoy during their stay. A monitor tour was conducted with the participation of woodworking instructor Shuhei Kunimura.

The Dōso-jin carvings created can also be donated for exhibition as landmarks along the future long trail.

The appeal of Dōso-jin carving lies not only in the experience itself but also in the fact that participants' creations become part of the scenic route.
