The Chain Museum Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Masamichi Toyama, hereinafter "The Chain Museum") will hold the group exhibition "In and Out and" from Friday, July 24, 2026, to Saturday, August 29, 2026, at "Art or Bee Hoon or Pai Chu (Pai Chu)," a gallery annexed to a Taiwanese restaurant in Roppongi operated by our company.
This exhibition is planned by artist Takeshi Yasura. In a space where eating and viewing coexist, it is an attempt to rethink "excretion" and "metabolism," essential activities in daily life, from the perspective of a larger circulation. In addition to works by six artists and researchers from various fields, talk events, special course offerings, and dyeing workshops will be held during the exhibition period.
- Works in this exhibition will be sold exclusively on ArtSticker. (Some works will be sold only at the venue, and some will not be for sale.)
General sales (sales on ArtSticker) will begin on Friday, July 24, at 5:00 PM.
- If you would like a price list for this exhibition, we will send it to you in advance as soon as it is completed.

Exhibition Overview
"Art or Bee Hoon or Pai Chu" will host the group exhibition "In and Out and" from Friday, July 24, 2026, to Saturday, August 29, 2026.
This exhibition, planned by artist Takeshi Yasura, is an attempt to rethink excretion, an essential activity for each of us in our daily lives, from the perspective of circulation, in this space where eating and viewing coexist.
Through works by six individuals spanning fields such as food, art, dyeing, and desert greening research, the gallery will transform from a space for simply viewing art into an entrance for feeling oneself as part of a larger circulation through various senses.
Talk events, special course offerings, and dyeing workshops are also planned during the exhibition period.
Exhibition Statement
Eating things.
Eating seems simple, but it's actually not simple at all. At the moment it enters the mouth, it is still food. It is rice, meat, vegetables, bread, something with a name. But once it is crushed by teeth, rolled by the tongue, mixed with saliva, swallowed, and enters the stomach through the esophagus, it starts to get strange.
Is this still food? It is dissolved in the stomach, broken down in the small intestine, the necessary parts are absorbed into the body, and the unnecessary parts are sent to the large intestine. There, water is removed, it comes into contact with bacteria, develops a smell, changes color, and is finally called feces. What was just called delicious or not delicious is suddenly treated as dirty. What is this rapid change?
However, this is not the end. To expel, to retain, to pass on. What was inside the body comes out and touches the world. It once returned to the fields, and now passes through urban pipes to be sent to the inside of an even larger body. There, it is again unraveled, mixed, and transformed into something else.
In, out, and again,

Shuichi Oyama (Organic Matter Circulation Project, Institute for the Advanced Study of Global Environment)
In cities around the world, people gather, live, and engage in active economic activities. Large amounts of food and energy are also gathered. However, much of the waste and sewage from cities is not utilized and is incinerated, landfilled, or piled up. On the other hand, large areas of forest are logged, farmland is created, and soil is depleted and then abandoned. Will human life, especially urban life, continue like this? This Organic Matter Circulation Project aims to create a new environmental culture by working to improve agricultural production, regenerate degraded soil, and green desolate land using organic waste and sewage accumulated in cities, in Japan and five African countries (Zambia, Niger, Ghana, Uganda, Djibouti), in accordance with the characteristics of each country and region, individual consumption patterns, and residents' values regarding waste.
Romi Ogawa
After working at a maison dealing with antique fabrics in France, she worked at a bakery in Tokyo before going independent. She presides over her own brand "gather," which sells catering, groceries, and household goods. She is involved in recipe development and new store openings. She operated a restaurant with an annexed gallery in Tokyo for five years. She operates the cafe "Gut Art" at the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art. Since 2023, she has participated in The Chain Museum. She is in charge of cooking at the gallery "Art or Bee Hoon or Pai Chu" in Roppongi. She aims for initiatives where all senses of daily life are softly gathered, overlapped, swayed, and each appears and disappears.

Takeshi Yasura
His artistic practice aims to recognize existence as existence itself, by viewing various actors such as technology, living beings, inanimate objects, and humans on a horizontal axis rather than a vertical one. In 2018, he participated in the artist residency "END OF SUMMER" in Portland. Major exhibitions where his works have been presented include "TOTEM ORGA(H)" (Kohoku Water Reclamation Center, 2026), "The 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts" (Slovenia, 2025), "Our Ecology: Living as a Planet" (Mori Art Museum, 2023-24), "Ecology: A Dialogue on Circulation, A Temporary Sojourner" (Ginza Maison Hermès Forum, 2024), "Reborn-Art Festival 2021-22" (Miyagi, 2021), "Le 65e Salon de Montrouge" (Paris, 2021), etc. His works are also held in the collections of the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art (Tokyo), the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (Ishikawa), and the Museum of Modern Art, Shiga (Shiga).
Lucas Leglise
Born in France in 1992. Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. For many years, Leglise has explored the materiality of the photographic image itself and the conditions under which it emerges. His diverse projects attempt to give form to the moment when a photograph appears, particularly in analog photographic processes.
Oscillating between the real world and its image, he examines both what light inscribes on film and the relationship that photography forms with its subject (referent).

Venue: Art or Bee Hoon or Pai Chu (Pai Chu)
An art gallery where you can enjoy Taiwanese cuisine, produced by The Chain Museum, which operates ArtSticker. We plan and operate art projects every month in a multi-tenant building scheduled for demolition due to redevelopment. As the name "Art or Bee Hoon or" suggests, customers can enjoy viewing artworks in the gallery space or dine in the restaurant area. (You can also enjoy viewing art with a drink in hand.) The name "Pai Chu" is a coined word that combines respect and admiration for the "white cube" with the sense of security and warmth emanating from the kitchen.
