■ Standard adoption and benefits for D1 Grand Prix and D1 Lights participating vehicles
In drift competitions, there is always a risk of window damage from stone chips from preceding vehicles. With ARMORTEK's standard adoption, it provides the following overwhelming benefits for maintaining competition vehicles and ensuring driver safety:
・Stone chip guard (cost reduction): Protects the front windshield from stone chips from preceding vehicles.
This can also significantly reduce the replacement cost of expensive polycarbonate windows used in competitions.
・High transparency and high water repellency (visibility assurance): Ensures driver visibility with high, distortion-free transparency and excellent water repellency and anti-fouling properties.
・Damage prevention (safety assurance): Minimizes damage in the event of an accident. Prevents window breakage and driver injury.
Installation on D1 Grand Prix participating vehicles is also progressing.
ARMORTEK boasts high protective performance and ensures clear visibility.
■ Product Overview: What is ARMORTEK?
"ARMORTEK" AWF-01 is a domestically produced high-performance glass protection film developed with the cooperation of leading Japanese companies possessing elemental technologies. While maintaining clear visibility, it provides robust protective performance, guarding windshields from damage caused by stone chips, hail, and other impacts. With a visible light transmittance of 89.6%, it is compatible with vehicle inspections. It has also been officially adopted for patrol cars of the Saitama Prefectural Police and all-terrain active vehicles (rescue vehicles) of the Tokyo Fire Department. In the world of motorsports, it has been adopted for vehicles participating in AXCR (Asia Cross Country Rally). In 2024, it was used on the machine of Masato Kawabata, who won the class championship (TIG: unlimited modification gasoline class) while competing from "FLEX SHOW AIKAWA Racing with TOYO TIRES," managed by actor Sho Aikawa, supporting them in fierce battles. Furthermore, it has been adopted for vehicles stored at the Honda Collection Hall, contributing to the protection of valuable classic cars and legendary machines.
Even in cases where significant damage would occur without ARMORTEK film, vehicles with the film installed usually suffer no damage or only minor scratches.
・Robust special 4-layer structure: A 125μm special 4-layer film with a hard coat layer capable of deflecting steel bullets from modified guns, and a highly transparent PET film as the base material.
・High transparency: Boasts a visible light transmittance (VLT) of 89.6% and a distinctness of image (DOI) of 98.5%, ensuring clear visibility.
・High glass protection performance and water repellency: Features high water repellency with a water contact angle of 113°, and robust glass protection performance proven by gravel testing (stone impact test), in addition to UV cut (98.3%) functionality.
Also installed on Saitama Prefectural Police vehicles.
Officially adopted for Tokyo Fire Department all-terrain active vehicles.

What is D1 Grand Prix?
The D1 Grand Prix series is a competition where winners are decided based on the "coolness" of their drift driving. Its greatest appeal is the extraordinary movement of the cars. Drivers start drifting by sliding their cars far before the corner, pass through with roaring engine sounds, and rush away raising intense white smoke. Their dynamic and acrobatic actions have a "coolness" that directly appeals to the senses of observers.
In the series, there are "Solo Run" (1 car) and "Battle Run" (2 cars) where multiple cars (2 cars) run together.
