ArkEdge Space and ABIT Co., Ltd. Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Business Alliance

ArkEdge Space Inc. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takayoshi Fukuyo; hereinafter "ArkEdge Space"), which provides comprehensive solutions from planning and design to mass production and operation of microsatellite constellations, announces that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for a business alliance with ABIT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hachioji City, Tokyo; President: Takeo Hiyama; hereinafter "ABIT") to accelerate the international expansion of IoT solutions and the joint development of satellite communication devices.

■ Main Contents of the Business Alliance
ArkEdge Space has developed and operated 18 satellites to date. Many of these satellites are equipped with IoT communication devices capable of low-power, long-distance communication, and various technical demonstrations have been conducted.

As an example, with AE1b, a unique mission was carried out to create original tanka poems by separately transmitting the first part (5-7-5 syllables) and the second part (7-7 syllables) from the ground and combining them, demonstrating two-way communication technology via satellite. Furthermore, at the 11th UNISEC-Global Meeting (November 1-4, 2025), a live demo of short message transmission was conducted for participants from 18 countries, showcasing the immediacy and effectiveness of satellite IoT communication.

By utilizing satellite IoT, it is possible to collect and use sensor data (weather, ocean, logistics, environment, etc.) installed on land or at sea in areas where communication infrastructure is not developed, without relying on mobile phone networks or the internet.
Furthermore, by integrating and analyzing this IoT data with other geospatial information such as satellite images, it is possible to visualize situations, detect and analyze risks, and provide decision-making support, thereby solving a wide range of problems in an integrated manner.
Based on these achievements, ArkEdge Space is advancing to the phase of international demonstration and commercial deployment in multiple regions, including Africa, Central Asia, South America, and Pacific island nations.

For the social implementation of IoT solutions, comprehensive implementation capabilities are essential, including not only satellite-side technology but also ground-side terminal design, mass production, on-site deployment, and maintenance. Through this business alliance, a system will be established to provide integrated ground-side implementation capabilities and satellite-side wide-area coverage.
ABIT is an IoT platform operating company with a strong focus on wireless technology, having designed, manufactured, and socially implemented numerous IoT terminals in fields such as remote metering and disaster prevention. By combining ABIT's achievements with ArkEdge Space's satellite constellation technology and its network of domestic and international partners, we will build wide-area IoT solutions that include satellite communication, going beyond what can be achieved with ground-only or satellite-only systems, and promote their social implementation and widespread adoption.

In addition, to strengthen wireless communication technology, which is central to service quality and scalability, we will also work on the joint development of communication devices for satellites. Based on ABIT's communication module and protocol technology, development and verification will proceed targeting ArkEdge Space's satellite systems. The results obtained are planned to be applied to our satellite constellations, as well as commercialized and sold.

Furthermore, both companies will not be limited to the above initiatives but will continuously work to create new business opportunities in related communication technology fields by leveraging their mutual technological assets, jointly promoting the creation of innovative communication services and their expansion into international markets.
