MARENCO COVER - special edition -
This is a one-of-a-kind sofa cover made using "sakiori," an upcycling technique where unused kimono fabrics are unraveled, torn into thin strips, and re-woven into yarn. Since users attending welfare facilities hand-weave them, no two fabrics are ever the same. Old kimonos passed down from person to person, across generations. Enjoy the fluctuating expressions woven by freehand work, a quiet process repeated daily, as if spinning fragments of those memories.
- Planning and Design: Public Crafts - Sakiori Production: Sora to Umi / Kocorojapan
*Please inquire about prices and materials. Shipping will be after the exhibition period.

<Message for the Exhibition - Public Crafts>
In Japan, weaving was once a familiar activity in daily life, such as during the off-season for farming. It was a time to use one's body and hands with the seasons. The richness found in such rhythms is being lost in modern society, where efficiency and speed are demanded.
By taking a step back from efficiency and uniformity, we focus on creating by hand, repeating, and the quiet sensations that arise from it. Through the activities of Public Crafts, weavers from various parts of Japan and Europe have gathered. We hope that through their studies, you will feel the sensations brought by the act of weaving and its connection to daily life.
Public Crafts
A design project team that confronts materials and techniques inherited across Japan and explores their role in modern life and public spaces. They propose materials to hotels and restaurants, and through collaboration with artisans and creators, connect the craftsmanship behind handmade goods to society. Beyond Japan, they also work with ateliers in Europe, operating as a platform that fosters the circulation of crafts and communities across regions and cultures.

Art is one of the essential elements for an attractive interior, just like furniture. Since its founding, the furniture brand Arflex has proposed a variety of art that enriches daily life. Since 2017, it has started the "LIFE with ART project" with noie.cc, which also functions as a frame and framing shop. We want more people to experience the joy of decorating with art. With this shared desire, we hold exhibition and sales events for art of various genres and expressions.
