The Background of Our Dream
Having worked in design for over 10 years, even before the establishment of Hibiya Design, the question that has remained strongly with me every day is, "What is authentic design?"
While the word "design" is broad, it is expressed in various fields such as architecture, space, fashion, graphics, engineering, games, and events.
I have come to realize that there is a common core to all design, and I believe its essence lies in the fact that the mere presence of that design creates a sense of richness.
Spreading that richness to the world—that is the goal Hibiya Design aims to achieve.
The First Step: Hosting an Exhibition
To move toward realizing this dream, we held an exhibition last year themed around yokai (Japanese spirits/monsters) titled "Great Night Parade of One Hundred Demons: Nini Aizawa's Yokai Picture Scroll."
This exhibition featured the "Japanese Yokai Series," which I have been writing and drawing over the course of more than 10 years. It was intended to commemorate both 100 types of yokai and our 10th anniversary.
Since then, we have held several other exhibitions and showcases as part of our 10th-anniversary year.

We were delighted to see so many people enjoy the work, and we received numerous positive reactions during the event and on social media. I truly feel that we were able to create a sense of richness through the theme of yokai.
Expanding to More Activities in the Future
While continuing our activities related to yokai, I have felt a desire to return to our roots and push forward with designs that enrich people's hearts.
To deliver this richness to even more people, we plan to expand our approach into various fields, with an eye toward international development in the future.
