AQUARIUM×ART átoa × Kobe City Museum: Special Discount Set Tickets for 'Tove and the Moomin Exhibition'

AQUARIUM×ART átoa (located in Chuo-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; Director: Hiromi Nakayama; hereafter referred to as ATOA) will sell two types of set tickets as a collaboration with the 'Tove and the Moomin Exhibition: Searching for Something Special' (hereafter, Moomin Exhibition) to be held at Kobe City Museum from Saturday, October 10, 2026 to Sunday, December 13, 2026.

The set tickets that allow entry to both the Moomin Exhibition and ATOA are available in two types: advance tickets and same-day tickets.

Limited advance tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, June 10, 2026 to Friday, October 9, 2026, before the Moomin Exhibition opens. Same-day set tickets will be on sale during the Moomin Exhibition period from Saturday, October 10, 2026 to Sunday, December 13, 2026. Both set tickets are sold exclusively on Asoview! and advance tickets are 300 yen cheaper than the regular price.

After enjoying original drawings and sketches by Tove Jansson, the origin of the Moomin stories, you can experience the fantastic aquarium art at ATOA. This is a special plan to fully enjoy 'art' and 'story' in the city of Kobe all day long.

Overview of 'Tove and the Moomin Exhibition: Searching for Something Special'

2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the publication of the 'Moomin' novels. To commemorate this, a special exhibition 'Tove and the Moomin Exhibition: Searching for Something Special' will be held at the Kobe City Museum next autumn, with cooperation from the Helsinki Art Museum (HAM) in Finland.

Tove Jansson (1914-2001), the creator of the Moomins, was an artist who demonstrated talent in various fields including painting, satire, comics, picture books, and novels. The exhibition will review Tove's creative world through about 300 items, including early oil paintings, satirical works from before and after World War II, original drawings and sketches of the Moomin novels and comics, and personal belongings. It will also explore the charm of the 'Moomin' series, which deeply reflects her life.

AQUARIUM×ART átoa

A theatrical aquarium that blends living aquariums with stage art and digital art. The venue is divided into eight original themes such as caves and forests of spirits, where you can meet about 170 species and 4,000 creatures in spaces reminiscent of movie or stage scenes.
