From Thursday, April 30, 2026, to Sunday, May 31, 2026, the special exhibition "Is there a loach bigger than this!? ~Compare and Discover Loaches Exhibition~" will be held.
This exhibition will feature a giant loach (species: Chinese weatherfish) that even veteran breeders are surprised by. Please come and see its powerful appearance up close.
Chinese weatherfish
Do you know the fish called "loach"? They are slender, wriggling fish that live in rice paddies and rivers. Although there are various types of loaches, they are generally about 10cm in size.
The Chinese weatherfish on display was donated by Yauchi Shoten Co., Ltd., a long-established ice manufacturing company in Kobe City. This Chinese weatherfish is an astonishing size, exceeding 30cm. Using this giant Chinese weatherfish as a clue, we will introduce the unknown charms of loaches by "comparing" their ecology and characteristics.

Congratulations on 1st place!
This is an "albino Chinese weatherfish," the same species as the one on display! From its plump and firm body, it's clear that A_P_u_s takes great care in raising it!
2nd Place: 21.8cm Mizu (@anajanaj11)
Breeder's Comment:
Close second place! It's a giant over 20cm, but it's a cool loach with a smart and dignified face!
3rd Place: 20.1cm Tako-san (@PGqG3xkKaw87860)
Breeder's Comment:
3rd place! It's so thick and powerful that the ruler on the craft mat looks small! It looks like it eats a lot! (laughs)
