[Aquaignis Sendai] Opening of "Reborn House," a Co-creation Community Facility Conveying Disaster Area Regeneration Efforts, and "OCHACCO," a Space for Hot Springs and Regional Exchange

Aquaignis Sendai (Fujitsuka district, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) will open "Reborn House," a co-creation community space serving as a venue for training and events, and "OCHACCO," a cafe space expanding the resting functions of the hot spring area, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, coinciding with its 4th anniversary. Additionally, the cafe "Sarutahiko Coffee Aquaignis Sendai Store" will be relocated and reopened within the same facility on Monday, April 27.

In the surrounding area, new park development and public transportation expansion are progressing, and efforts are underway to create vibrancy in the coastal areas as the entire Fujitsuka district.

## Three new bases aimed at creating further vibrancy in the coastal area of Sendai City

The Fujitsuka district, where Aquaignis Sendai is located, is one of the areas heavily damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Aiming to create new vibrancy in the coastal area of Sendai City including the Fujitsuka district, this facility has opened multiple stores centered on "healing, eating, and nurturing," and has welcomed many visitors.

Celebrating its 4th anniversary on April 21 (Tuesday), the facility will undergo a major renewal to play a role as a "hub for exchange" where people connect with people and the community continuously more than ever. As the first step, the following stores will open, and further store expansions are planned towards the summer of 2026.

A co-creation community space that can be used as a place for training, events, and exchange.

As a feature, panels are installed to convey the reality of the region faced through experiences such as being involved in business in this area before the earthquake, being on-site on the day of the disaster, and clearing debris immediately after the disaster, as well as subsequent regeneration efforts.

On days when the facility is not in use, it is open to the general public, allowing them to experience a place of exchange and learning in the actual affected location. By providing such a space within a commercial facility, we aim to make the memory of the earthquake feel closer and serve as a place for continuous transmission.
