Aqua Ignis Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tetsuya Tachibana) is pleased to announce that "Bar Toki," located within "Kanshukuen ESHIKOTO," an onsen auberge in Eiheiji Town, Fukui Prefecture, has received the highest honor, the Gold Award, at the globally prestigious design award "iF DESIGN AWARD 2026."
The "iF DESIGN AWARD" is an international design award organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Hanover, Germany. It evaluates excellent designs from multiple perspectives, including innovation, functionality, and sustainability. Among these, the "Gold Award" is given only to particularly outstanding designs.
White walls gently partition a water basin, and within it, a small indoor space surrounded by glass unfolds. The white walls, involved in both the inside and outside, blur the boundaries, creating a space where architecture, interior, and landscape are felt as one, despite being only about 8 tsubo (approx. 26.4 square meters). It was designed as a space that feels like "one place," set against the backdrop of a satoyama landscape, which can be called Japan's original scenery.
Please enjoy a special drink at "Bar Toki" during your stay, quietly feeling the transition of nature and time.
