Aquacraft Inc. announced that it will add MCP (Model Context Protocol) support to its aquaculture production management service, uwotech pro, starting May 11, 2026. The new feature allows users to reference farming data stored in uwotech pro, register daily reports, and analyze production indicators through natural conversations with AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. The feature will be provided to all existing plan users at no additional cost. According to Aquacraft, integration between AI agents and business systems is accelerating globally. MCP, an open standard proposed by Anthropic in November 2024, is increasingly becoming a de facto standard for connecting AI assistants with business systems, with major AI companies such as Google, Microsoft and OpenAI also moving toward adoption. While MCP support is already progressing in AI-forward sectors such as accounting and SFA, examples in aquaculture production management systems remain limited. The company said customers have repeatedly asked to analyze and utilize accumulated farming data with AI, and to connect production data according to their own workflows. However, because workflows and tools differ from company to company, conventional individual API integrations have limits. Aquacraft adopted MCP to address this issue, providing a common entry point from AI assistants to business systems so that each company can flexibly use AI in its own workflow with minimal development effort. With MCP support, users can ask questions such as “What is the feed conversion ratio for seedling X this month?” or “Which fish cage had the most mortality last month?” The AI will reference uwotech pro data and answer with supporting evidence. Users can also register daily reports by saying things like “Fed cage No. 3 with 200 kg of EP No. 5” or “Three fish died in cage No. 5,” without opening a form screen. The feature also enables conversational analysis of production indicators, such as identifying the lot with the best feed conversion ratio this season or viewing monthly changes in feeding costs. Companies can also flexibly build custom AI workflows, including integrations with inventory systems, sensor data connections, and generation of effectiveness verification reports. The MCP feature will be available to all existing uwotech pro plan users at no additional cost. Supported data includes stock information, feeding and mortality records, weighing records, and production indicators such as feed conversion ratio. Supported AI assistants include MCP-compatible clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Aquacraft CEO Makoto Kaji commented that 2026 will be a turning point as business systems shift toward a new model in which people use them in collaboration with AI. To apply AI assistants in aquaculture management, business systems must be accessible and operable by AI. MCP support for uwotech pro provides a foundation for aquaculture customers to improve productivity, accelerate management decisions, and reduce the workload in the field.
