Aquaclara Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Yasuyuki Fujii, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), which aims to create 'Life,' 'Environment,' and 'Health' through water, is holding an upcycling workshop event at the immersive experience facility 'Wonderia Yokohama Supported by Umios,' planned and operated by DeNA Co., Ltd. (DeNA). The workshop uses recycled materials from Aquaclara's returnable bottles to create upcycled goods.
Aquaclara has not only provided 'safe, secure, and delicious water' but has also worked toward a sustainable society through a water business model with low environmental impact, such as reducing single-use plastics and transportation loads. This initiative has high affinity with the world of 'Wonderia Yokohama,' which offers experiences themed around the natural environment and biodiversity.
■ Experience Upcycling Aquaclara's Returnable Bottles
We want to deliver an enriched life where people can smile forever, far into the future. The Aquaclara Group adopted 'returnable bottles' early on to consider environmental protection and is committed to the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (reducing waste, reusing, and recycling resources).
In this workshop, participants learn about an earth-friendly future while having fun through a creative experience of reusing Aquaclara's returnable bottles. Those who participate can learn about the situations faced by sea turtles and other creatures they encounter at Wonderia Yokohama and discover what they can do to protect these living beings while enjoying an upcycling experience.
A one-of-a-kind tray is completed using Aquaclara's discarded bottles. Participants can choose motifs of their favorite creatures like whales, sea turtles, or jellyfish for the center of the tray. The recycled materials from Aquaclara bottles are expressed as grains within the tray.

This event is held with the cooperation of the design lab 'HONOKA.' HONOKA is a design lab aiming for sustainable systems in materials, technology, and culture. Inspired by the colors of Aquaclara water bottles and the properties of resins that have absorbed moisture, they create new value through the upcycling process. They have deployed 'Trace of Water,' an initiative turning Aquaclara's waste bottles into art, at DESIGNART TOKYO 2024 and Milan Design Week 2025.

■ Aquaclara's Environmentally Friendly Water Delivery Service
Aquaclara's service features a mechanism that suppresses environmental impact, including:
- Reduction of waste through the adoption of returnable bottles (product design based on long-term use)
- Construction of a stable supply system through decentralized manufacturing bases in Japan
- Reduction of CO2 emissions through circular logistics
Through this workshop, Aquaclara will send the message that 'choosing water leads to thinking about the environment' through an entertainment experience. In addition to the experience within the facility, we will convey messages about environmental consideration through our website.
