About the 'Humanoid Robot EXPO'
The Humanoid Robot EXPO is a specialized exhibition where developers, researchers, and business leaders gather to explore the forefront and future possibilities of robotics.
It brings together the latest 'robots that work with humans' and physical AI and control software, which will be the next step in addressing labor shortages. It's a place to compare and consider solutions while seeing robots in action, enabling efficient information gathering to combat labor shortages.
Specialist Seminar 'How to Create the Most Important "Data" in the Robotics Field' (R-6, 15:00-16:00)
In recent years, while the sophistication of AI models has advanced in robotics fields, including humanoid robots, 'what kind of data to prepare' has become a crucial factor that greatly influences performance.
In particular, for VLA (Vision-Language-Action) models that support robot actions, it is indispensable not only to tune the model but also to build a system for data design and collection that reflects the real environment.
This lecture, based on this background, will explain methods for collecting behavioral data required for robotics, annotation design, and quality control. Based on APTO's expertise in AI data generation, we will introduce data strategies and practical methods to accelerate Physical AI development and adoption.
Key Points of the Lecture
-
Methods for designing behavioral data required for robotics
-
Building a data collection system with practical operation in mind
-
Concepts for annotation design and quality control
-
Data strategy to accelerate Physical AI development
Seminar Speaker

Ryo Takahina
Representative Director, APTO Inc.
Graduated from Tokyo University of Science in 2013. His first career involved infrastructure and back-end development for large-scale core systems. After experiencing freelancing, he founded a company involved in VR development in 2017. Becoming interested in AI development in the late 2010s, he developed independently but realized the challenges with data, leading him to co-found APTO in 2020. He remains in this role to this day.
