APA Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumiko Motoya), which operates Japan's largest network of 1,071 hotels and 143,915 rooms (including those under construction and franchise partners), has signed a franchise agreement with Otaru Green Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otaru, Hokkaido; CEO: Ken Yamashita) and opened 'APA Hotel <Okhotsk Kitami>' (100 rooms) today.

Kitami City is the most populous hub city in the Okhotsk region and serves as a key location for agriculture, forestry, and winter automotive testing. It is also famous for its 'Yakiniku' (grilled meat) culture, curling, and peppermint history. The hotel aims to attract both business and leisure demand.

In conjunction with the opening, the rooms were renovated into APA's signature 'New Urban Hotel' style, focusing on high quality, high functionality, and environmental friendliness. Standard features include 50-inch or larger LCD TVs in all rooms, bedside outlets for easy charging, APA Digital Information on the TV screen, free VOD (APA Room Theater), and free Wi-Fi throughout the building. As an eco-friendly APA hotel, four types of amenities (toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes, and shower caps) have been replaced with products made from biomass materials and recycled plastics.

Regarding expansion plans in Hokkaido, APA plans to open 'APA Hotel & Resort <Sapporo Ekimae>' (488 rooms) and 'APA Hotel <Sapporo Ekimae Nishi>' (168 rooms) in 2027. Additionally, through their 'scrap and build' strategy, 'APA Hotel <Sapporo Hosui-Susukino Ekimae>' closed today and will be reborn as a new 150-room hotel. 'APA Hotel <Okhotsk Kitami>' is the second APA property in the eastern Hokkaido area, following 'APA Hotel <Obihiro Ekimae>', bringing the total number of APA hotels in Hokkaido to 14 properties with 3,485 rooms.
