Anker Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of the Anker Group, has partnered with Star Flyer to provide USB cable rental services on all flights. Starting June 1, 2026, passengers can rent Anker USB cables to charge their smartphones and tablets using seat-integrated USB-A or USB-C ports. This initiative also includes educational activities regarding the safe carriage of mobile batteries and training support for cabin crew. The collaboration was prompted by the April 2026 revision of aviation laws, which tightened rules on using mobile batteries during flights. Both companies aim to ensure passengers can travel without worrying about their device battery levels. Anker will provide high-durability cables, allowing passengers to enjoy in-flight entertainment without power concerns. Future plans include co-creating educational content on battery safety and providing knowledge-sharing sessions for Star Flyer staff.
