Under the "Japan Creator Support Fund" established by the Japan Arts Council with a subsidy from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the "Creator Support Project (Training Program Construction and Implementation)" has been underway since FY2025, aiming for the international success of next-generation creators and specialized personnel.
Within this framework, in the manga sector, in response to the shortage of specialized personnel capable of handling overseas publishing business and the current situation where Japanese content is not sufficiently asserting its presence in the global market, the manga editor training program "CORE (Creative Overseas Resources for Editors)" and the manga rights manager training program "CORP (Creative Overseas Resources for Publishing)" have been launched.
This program specifically targets the rapidly growing North American market. Through domestic and international seminars and business negotiations with local publishers, it aims to train editors and rights managers equipped with "practical skills" such as translation, localization, contracting, and promotion, and to support the establishment of a system where rights managers and editors can independently promote overseas expansion within three years.
As part of this program, the 4th domestic seminar (online) will be held on Friday, June 12.
This seminar is open only to domestic publishing professionals, especially those engaged in editing and rights management.
