Our company endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release is the dream of "Animal Welfare Co., Ltd."

Noriaki Iwata, Representative Director and Veterinarian, Animal Welfare Co., Ltd.

For 16 years as a veterinarian, I stood in slaughterhouses.

There were sights I could only see and realize there. I want to reduce, eliminate the sorrow of voiceless lives from Japan. That's why I gave up a stable civil servant job to start a company. I have a dream I want to fulfill.

▍The Reason I Came to Have This Dream

I am a veterinarian who stood in slaughterhouses for 16 years.

I have witnessed the moment life ends millions of times before my eyes.

I know better than anyone what kind of environment those lives lived in.

Livestock raised in narrow cages, experiencing stress.

Livestock raised running around vast pastures, blessed by the sun.

They are both called "meat," but they are completely different lives.

One day, a conviction became inseparable from my mind.

Unless someone turns the sorrow of voiceless lives into an economy, that sorrow will not disappear.

"I will create an economy that respects life!" If no one else does it, I will.

That determination pulled me away from the stability of a civil servant.

In September 2023, I gave up 16 years of civil service to start a company.

That is the beginning of my dream today.

▍My Five Dreams I Want to Realize

You might think the dream of "making Japan's livestock industry the kindest in the world" is too abstract. So, I will write it specifically. These are the five things I want to achieve:

▍What I Am Doing Now Towards My Dream

Just talking about dreams is not the meaning of April Dream. I will report what I am doing at this very moment.

▍I Am Looking for People to Join Me in This Dream

This dream is too big to achieve alone. Honestly, I lack many things right now. But that's why I'm saying it today.

We are looking for colleagues.

I'm not just looking for money. Farmers, restaurant owners, media professionals, policy makers, or simply those who say, "I want to eat this meat"—if there are people who can take on a part of this dream in their respective positions, I would love to connect.

As a first step, please participate in our crowdfunding campaign (CAMPFIRE, starting April 2026). While delivering animal welfare certified free-range pork "THE HOUBOQ," we will advance this dream.
