【Lecture Purpose】
This lecture explains the fundamental theory for analyzing the optical properties of optical multilayer films. It will detail the main design parameters in optical multilayer film design. Next, the theory of optimal design methods for designing multilayer films will be explained. The seminar aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of the series of fundamental theories, from the basic theory of optical thin film analysis to optimal design. It will explain the process and points of caution for characteristic analysis and optimization of optical multilayer films using a learning-based Excel VBA program. A demonstration will be conducted to optimize the film structure of multilayer films such as anti-reflection coatings, high-reflection mirrors, oblique incidence filters, edge filters, and infrared reflective films.
