andfujiizaki, a first-class architect firm, has launched "fufurere," a rental housing project specifically designed to support families with infants and toddlers. By incorporating 100 design features based on personal experience and research, the project aims to reduce parenting burdens and prevent social isolation, fostering a better environment for parent-child well-being.

We support "April Dream," a project that aims to make April 1st a day to share dreams.
This press release is the dream of andfujiizaki, a first-class architect office.
andfujiizaki (Representatives: Chiaki Fujii / Megumi Izaki; Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is announcing its "April Dream" to promote "Child-Rearing Support Rental Housing: fufurere" to society, aiming to gently support parents and children during infancy. Based on personal parenting experiences and research, our first-class architects have begun a design business for new rental housing that incorporates safety, security, reduction of childcare burdens, and considerations to prevent "isolated parenting" (child-rearing in isolation), all to improve the well-being of parents and children. We are also currently seeking rental housing owners. Please visit our official website for details.

Why is housing specialized for infancy necessary?
While looking back on child-rearing makes it feel short, the days during infancy are extremely intense and place a significant burden on both mind and body. In addition to repetitive tasks like carrying, breastfeeding, and putting children to sleep, many burdens and anxieties accumulate in daily life, such as concerns about noise, safety, and being mindful of outings or visitors.
On the other hand, many existing homes are not designed with this type of early childhood parenting in mind. As a result, parents' mental capacity is depleted, creating an environment prone to isolation.
Child-rearing is difficult, but more than that, it is a very interesting and irreplaceable time.
That is precisely why we want to make it a time that can be savored with peace of mind.
In response to this situation, we arrived at this project, believing that we could support child-rearing through the design of the home.
● A "100-Item Checklist" Based on "Three Perspectives," Personal Experience, and Research
In this project, we design from three perspectives: safety and security, reduction of childcare burdens, and the prevention of isolated parenting. We have independently created a 100-item checklist based on our own experiences and research, aiming for homes that come pre-equipped with thoughtful features that make parents think, "I'm so glad this is here" or "How thoughtful."
● The Choice of "Period-Specific" and "Rental Housing"
Instead of assuming long-term residency, we choose housing that provides the necessary functions for the necessary period.
From this perspective, housing that supports infant-rearing naturally aligns with the rental format. Furthermore, by achieving this through detailed design ingenuity—such as floor plans, flow lines, and sound environments—rather than relying on special equipment or high-cost specifications, we aim to balance realism with the widespread adoption of rental housing.
Depending on the site and conditions, we propose the optimal method from three business schemes: "Wooden Row House Type," "RC (Reinforced Concrete) Apartment Type," and "Renovation."
● The Ease of "Mutual Understanding" and an Environment That Prevents "Isolated Parenting"
There is also significance in specializing in the limited period of infancy and creating an environment where households in the same parenting phase naturally gather. The fact that lifestyles are similar creates a psychological ease of "we're in this together." In an environment where small chats occur, the same worries can be shared, and people can say, "We're the same," these small interactions become a support system that prevents isolated parenting.
At "fufurere," we are also considering the nature of easy-to-use shared community spaces, planning areas where natural relationships can form without becoming an excessive burden.
What We Consider "Parent-Child Well-being"
Not having to constantly worry about whether things are dangerous. Not having to constantly worry about those around you.
Not having to go back and forth. Not having to look for lost items.
Feeling that you are not isolated.
This state creates mental space for parents and leads to the stability of the parent-child relationship. The homes of "fufurere" aim to be a presence that can support that mental space.

We are holding a "Dad & Mom Roundtable" to reflect the real voices of child-rearing households!
There are "nameless childcare struggles" in daily life that cannot be seen in blueprints alone. We believe that those real experiences are essential for the future of home building.
Why not talk casually about various aspects of child-rearing while eating snacks? First-class architects will also participate, and we will think about housing concerns together.

Child-Rearing Support Rental Housing Pre-Roundtable
Prior to the roundtable in May, we held a "Child-Rearing Support Rental Pre-Roundtable" in March 2026.
We invited four active child-rearing households to exchange opinions on housing issues they feel in their daily lives.
(1) The most annoying thing that happened at home recently
(2) What are you doing about the bedroom?
(3) The subtly difficult parts of your current home
(4) If you could change just one thing in your home
Frank discussions were held, and as a result, the following issues were cited as common concerns.
■ Psychological burden due to concern about noise
"Every time my child runs, I'm on edge wondering if I'm bothering the floor below."
■ Difficulty in balancing child-rearing and household flow lines
"The kitchen is narrow, and it's difficult to find ways to keep the child out."
■ Children's sleeping environment
"They wake up with the morning sun, so I'm using black plastic cardboard on the windows as a countermeasure."
We will carefully reflect these real challenges of child-rearing in our checklist and apply them to our designs.

The Future Created by fufurere
Through this project, we will widely propose how housing should be designed with consideration for infant-rearing, and we will develop it into a concrete form while keeping in mind collaboration with developers, real estate businesses, and local communities.
In addition, by accumulating the voices of actual residents and operational knowledge, and by continuously improving our designs and services, we aim to become a realistic option for more families.
Because it is a difficult time for child-rearing, the home can be a support.
"Child-Rearing Support Rental Housing fufurere" aims for a future where this becomes the social norm.

During child-rearing, there are moments when I remember my child's innocent gestures and let out a "fufu" (chuckle), feeling the tension leave my shoulders. I realize that as these moments gradually increase, it becomes mental space for the parent and a force that supports the precious time between parent and child.
From the time a child is born until they turn six, it is about 2,200 days.
The name "fufurere" embodies our wish to be a home that gently supports these "first 2,200 days of parent and child."
Increasing the number of "fufu" chuckles that spill out.
Having the home provide a little bit of support.
Through the accumulation of these things, the difficult times are softened just a little.
We want to realize such daily life through the design of housing.
