Upcycle Planner Keiko Kato will host an upcycled paper pouch workshop at 'DCM DIY place' in Ebisu, Tokyo, on June 6th. Guest instructor Makoto Kajiwara from WAcKA will also join to lead a T-shirt yarn strap-making experience.

Upcycle Planner Keiko Kato will participate in the Upcycle Week held by the experience-based retail store 'DCM DIY place' in Ebisu, Tokyo, and will host a workshop for creating upcycled pouches from paper on June 6th (Sat).
In this workshop, participants can upcycle various materials such as their favorite paper bags, wrapping paper, or snack packaging to create authentic pouches. As this is a no-sew pouch that requires no needles or thread, it can be enjoyed by all generations from children to adults. Furthermore, we will welcome upcycle coordinator Makoto Kajiwara as a guest instructor to provide an experience in making straps using T-shirt yarn crafted from T-shirts scheduled for disposal.
Additionally, to mark 'Upcycle Day' on June 24th, DCM DIY place plans to host further upcycling workshops using wood scraps from the store and old records.

About Upcycling:
Upcycling refers to initiatives that give new added value, such as design or ideas, to waste that would otherwise be discarded, upgrading it into different products. Beyond simple recycling, this concept of increasing the value of objects is expected to serve as a new form of manufacturing for realizing a sustainable society.
