MTV Presents Live Series 'Cross-stage' Vol. 2! Chilli Beans. and Penthouse Perform Exclusive Collaborations in Battle-of-the-Bands Live

MTV, one of the world's largest youth-focused music and entertainment channels, held the battle-of-the-bands live event 'Cross-stage Vol. 2: Chilli Beans. x Penthouse' at Toyosu PIT on Sunday, April 5th. 'Cross-stage' is a live event series presented by MTV where two resonant groups co-perform (Cross) on stage. For this second installment, Chilli Beans. and Penthouse took the stage, delivering a precious performance that could only be seen here, including collaborations where vocalists from each band participated in the other's live sets. First to appear on stage was Chilli Beans. Amid the rising expectations of the audience, the live started with the impressive slap bass of '105☻', instantly enveloping the venue in the unique groove woven by the members. Supple vocals rode comfortably on the profound band ensemble, gradually increasing the heat on the floor. During the MC, Maika (Ba) shared an episode saying, 'We've been in the same space as Penthouse before, but this is the first time we're having a proper chat. We even played card games seriously just a little while ago!', bringing a warm atmosphere to the venue. From the middle to the latter half, they showcased performances oscillating between lightness and intense energy with songs like 'yesterday', 'pain', and 'HAPPY END', drawing the audience into their one-and-only world with different expressions shown in each song. Then, for their final number 'Shekilala', they welcomed Shintaro Namioka (Vo, Gt) and Maho Oshima (Vo) of Penthouse, realizing a special collaboration unique to this day. The venue was enveloped in a euphoria that united the stage and the audience, leaving a vivid afterglow until the end. Next, the members of Penthouse appeared, and their live started with 'Welcome to the Penthouse'. The band ensemble gradually layered, and when Penthouse's signature soulful twin vocals were added, the venue's voltage skyrocketed. Moving straight into 'Planetary', the atmosphere on the floor became even more glamorous, and the excitement quickly peaked with the call-and-response led by Oshima. During the MC, Oshima and Namioka looked back on the earlier collaboration, commenting, 'We got too carried away' and 'It looked so fun', adding that 'Chilli Beans.'s songs can purely express fun and joy'. The live proceeded in a harmonious mood, and in 'Taxi to the moon', each member's solo was featured, creating a pleasant sense of tension. In 'Ryuseigun', the world of the song expanded to involve the whole venue, and in the latter half's 'Aoku Are', they fascinated the audience with a performance crossing power and liberation. Finally, in '...Koi ni Ochitara' featuring Moto (Vo) from Chilli Beans., a special performance blending the essence of Penthouse and Chilli Beans. materialized, wrapping the venue in massive excitement. The event concluded with a stage that showcased the diverse charms of both bands until the very end.
